Happy New Year!

Well, here we are again, fellow humans! The beginning of a new year. A fresh start, and an opportunity to reflect and let go of the past, making room for the present, and the year ahead. 2025 is also the Year of the Snake, in the Chinese Zodiac and lunar calendar. It will bring an end to 2024’s Year of the Dragon on January 28th.

The Year of the Snake will begin January 29th and continue through February 16th, 2026. While there are many fans of reptiles, including snakes, for some they evoke fear, dislike, and other less than pleasant responses. The Chinese Zodiac philosophy provides a more neutral, desirable perspective, including a representation of transformation, renewal, and spiritual growth. Just as snakes shed their skin to allow for new growth. Shedding the old that they are ready to let go of, which may also have parasites attached. Making room for the new, fresh, healthy, clean skin. Out with the old, in with the new.

The Year of the Snake has the same references attached, so consider that as we enter into 2025. A year of letting go, cleansing, healing, allowing space for an emergence of fresh perspectives, more self-expression, sharing, and shining of the real YOU. In reality, I have just described what each year, as well as every single day, can be. But this is a fun way to be reminded and encouraged to identify what is non-beneficial in our lives. Validating this can empower us to make a choice to keep and remain as we are, or remove and replace, or take steps to do so.

We are in charge, and the creators of our own realities, our own lives. We have the power to give ourselves permission to let go, move on, and change or enhance the direction we are going at any time. The ending of one calendar year, and the beginning of the next, always draws attention to the concept of “out with the old, in with the new.” While there may have been a time and place for old concepts and beliefs, and some may still, and perhaps always be, pertinent to you, you may find some to be outdated. When you let go of thoughts, ideas, and behaviors that you no longer need or want, you create the space for new concepts and beliefs that benefit you in the present.

Letting go of some things may seem easier than others. There may be non-beneficial patterns that have become ingrained habits. You may experience emotions in your body that make it feel safer and more comfortable to hang on, and frightening or even terrifying to change or let go. Using the meditation techniques that I practice and teach can help your body feel less afraid and more confident to move forward. They can create a stable foundation of safety, as well as provide techniques to consciously create change. You can let go of fear, anxiety, and other discomforts from your body using these tools.

Physicists have proven that everything is energy. Emotions, thoughts, stress, everything! The meditation techniques I’m sharing about can help you let go of unwanted, non-beneficial energies so you have more room for energy that benefits you in the present. The style of grounding that I practice helps the body feel safer and less afraid. It also acts as a tool to release unwanted energy. Learn more about grounding, including how to practice it, at my other blog post, “Have You Heard About Grounding?” at this link.

If you have questions about grounding, meditation, and changing unwanted thoughts, patterns and habits, feel free to reach out. Happy New Year and the best to you and your animal friends in 2025!

What does this mean? Being spirit.

YOU are spirit. If you have a leaning towards spiritual exploration, and/or have settled onto your spiritual path, you may have your own personal concepts of the meaning of “spirit.”

I often hear people say, “my spirit.” Which, to me, indicates they believe that they are their physical body, and have a spirit vs. being a spirit, and having a body. I believe that we ARE all spirits, and we have bodies. We are spirits manifesting in physical bodies. Whether human, dog, cat, horse, bird, fish, or bear, we are all spirits, with bodies.

There has been much discussion, debate, and studies conducted to prove that animals experience emotion. All bodies have and experience emotions. Emotions are of the body. So, yes. Animals definitely experience, and have a wide range of, emotions. Just like people do. But animals are more than just their bodies, just like people are. We are again, all spirit with bodies. It is because we have bodies that we can experience emotions, and other aspects of the physical realm.

Without the use of a body a spirit can not experience the physical world, including emotions. Whether animal or human. Without the ability to manifest through a body, we, as spirit, are in, and can only experience the spiritual realm. Emotions, the intellect, and other experiences, such as pain are only part of the physical experience. To experience them we need a body. And for a body to experience life, to be alive, it needs a spirit, a spiritual being to manifest its energy through it. We need each other, spirit, and body, to experience the physical world.

Obviously, we know the scientific meaning of life, and the aspects of the body that need to be healthy for the body to be alive. But it is the spirit, the soul, the spiritual being and whether its energy is energizing the body that determines whether it is alive or not, and the state of vitality of the body.

As spirit we have the ability to move our energy in and out of our body. The body is always in the present moment. As spirit, we can be in the present, the past, or the future. We can use our bodies to help us at spirit to manifest more consciously into the present. Focusing on our body’s rhythms and experiences can automatically help draw our attention as spirit more into the present. Some meditation practices encourage focusing on breathing, which is a fabulous start! When one focuses their attention on their breath flowing in and out of their lungs it brings their awareness more to their body, and thus more to the present moment. Remember, your body is always in the present. As I mentioned, you as spirit, can be anywhere, at will. The present, the past, the future. Even another city, state, or country. Wherever your attention is, that’s where you are as spirit.

It can be fun to just notice. Allow yourself to be aware. Check in when you think of it. Where is your attention? Is it on the task or activity you are currently doing? It might be! Are you thinking about other things on your “to do” list? Perhaps you’re enjoying thoughts of an upcoming event that you’re looking forward to. Or maybe a memory was triggered and you’re dwelling on something from the past. There’s no right or wrong, or good or bad about it. Each is just a different experience.

However, the more you are in the present, the more in control of yourself, your body, your energy, and your actions you will be. In addition to focusing on your breathing, you can be aware of your heartbeat, your pulse. Notice the weight and mass of your body, your clothes on your skin, the temperature of the room. Use the senses of your body to help draw your attention as spirit more to it, and to the present moment. Tune into any sounds, smells, and tastes in your mouth. If you close your eyes, as in meditation, it can help lessen distractions. We take in so much information with our eyes, that when we close them, it helps us to focus more on ourselves, and our bodies. However, if you are sighted and your eyes are open, you can use your sense of sight, and what you see, to further draw your attention into the present. We often learn to move our attention out into whatever we are looking at, so this is something to be aware of. Practice staying with your body, as you look at external sights.

These techniques are simple and can be done with your eyes closed or opened, as mentioned. But there is one other technique that is just as simple, but in my opinion, is the most important. It’s called grounding. You may have heard the term grounding before, but it may be a different style than what I am sharing about.

While you can be grounded anytime and anywhere and doing any activity, if you are new to grounding, it can help you to sit comfortably in a straight back chair, with your eyes closed. You’ll want to have your feet separated and flat on the floor, and your hands separated and resting in your lap. Take some nice, slow deep breaths and relax your body. Be aware of the area near the base of your spine. This is your first chakra. Allow yourself to create, imagine, visualize a flow of energy flowing from the area near the base of your spine all the way down to the center of the earth. Let it flow straight down with no effort. This is your grounding cord. Securely attach it to both ends, the center of the earth and your first chakra. Take a deep breath and experience being grounded. How does your body respond to being grounded? Get a word or words to describe what it’s like to be grounded right now. Does it feel familiar, or new? Continue to allow your grounding to flow. Being grounded can help to lessen stress, anxiety, and depression, as well as help you be less scattered and more in control of your life.

You can also use your grounding to release energy. Physicists have proven that everything is energy. Everything. Everything physical and everything related to the spiritual realm. There are just different kinds of energy. Some we can physically see, and some we can’t. There are energies that are beneficial and those that can be disturbing and disruptive. We can release any energy we do not want. When we release unwanted energy, we make more room for the energy that we want. Out with the old and unwanted energies, and in with the new and desired energies.

Practice releasing energy now. Be aware of your grounding flowing from your first chakra to the center of the earth. Get the concept of releasing any unwanted energy down your grounding. Just let it go. With no effort. Just allow, and let it flow. This process does not harm the planet in any way. Once it gets to the center of the earth, the energy is neutralized to be reused again.

Be aware of an area of your body that you carry a lot of tension. That is stored energy. Allow that energy to flow down your grounding. Let it go. Relax your body by releasing energy. How does your body respond as you release energy from it? You can release any energy that you want. Releasing energy also strengthens your grounding. If you ever feel like you need more grounding, simply send more energy down it.

If you are ever feeling scattered, overwhelmed, or uncomfortable in any way, remember your ability to ground. Simply grounding helps to calm your body’s nervous system. Then you have the added benefit of releasing any energy that is making you uncomfortable. You may tune into something specific, but you don’t have to. There have been times I didn’t know exactly what energy I was dealing with, but knew I needed to let it go. So, I did, and my body felt better.

Grounding is a spiritual technique, as is releasing energy. You create your grounding as spirit. You release energy as spirit. When you create as spirit it takes no effort. If you ever find yourself trying hard to ground, or release energy, that’s your body trying to get involved. Bodies use effort. Spirits do now. Remember, everything is energy. Including effort. So, you can release any interfering effort energy down your grounding.

Using spiritual techniques, such as grounding and releasing energy, will help you get to know yourself as spirit. The soul, the spiritual being that you are. I’ll end this blog post, just as I began it. YOU are spirit. Enjoy your unique, and uniquely beautiful spiritual journey, here on earth.

What is an Aura and More Interesting Answers

You may be familiar with the term, aura. You may even understand the word and what it is. I would like to share my perspective of the almighty aura!

An aura, in the way I am referring to it, is an energy field. All things have auras. An aura is the energy field around “a thing,” whether a person, animal, tree, house, car or any living thing or inanimate object.

Everything is energy. You, me, the ground you walk on, the air you breathe, the food you eat, your emotions, words, thoughts and absolutely everything is a form of energy. Physicists have scientifically proven this.

Just as everything else is energy, so is an aura, which emanates from the object it  surrounds. Auras that surround the bodies and energy systems of animals and humans contain a great deal of energy and information. There are seven main layers of an aura that I focus on during an aura reading with a human or animal. There are also seven main chakras, or energy information centers that are a part of an individual’s energy system. The layers of the aura relate to the chakras. Each chakra contains specific information and has a unique purpose. For more information on the chakra system I suggest the book, “Chakras: Key to Spiritual Opening”, by Mary Ellen Flora. However, before delving into that masterpiece of a book, I recommend reading Flora’s first book or ebook, “Meditation: Key to Spiritual Awakening.” After reading her meditation book, you may find it beneficial to practice the techniques in that book, as well as on the accompanying “Meditation: Key to Spiritual Awakening” CD or audio download before moving further through her series.

Asking for Help

Sindi meditating

Meditation has helps me to feel better, create change and be more present in my life.

It can be hard to ask for help. Especially when you are used to doing everything for yourself. Or you believe that you must do everything for yourself. Perhaps you believe it makes you weak to ask for help or that you are not worthy of assistance from others. Neither one of those beliefs are true. Maybe you may feel like you are dumping on someone or burdening them with your problems. I know I run into limiting beliefs that have kept me from reaching out when I could have used a hand. It also has interfered with me accepting help when it has been offered. This can be invalidating to the person that is doing the giving and wants to help.

I like to give. I am not alone on that.  It can feel good to give.  When we ask for help and/or accept help we give others the opportunity to give to us. It is important for us to learn to receive, as well as give. Allowing others the room to give to us is also beneficial.

We don’t have to give less to receive or give to ourselves. We just need to remember the importance of balance. Both giving and receiving. If all we do is give, the well runs dry. We must replenish it and re-fill our well so that we can continue to give. Otherwise we are drained and depleted with nothing left to give, but fatigue, stress and other fun things like irritation and even resentment.

What people view as a polite greeting, regardless of mood, is very different from how a dog with "good" manners and non-threatening intentions do.

Lend a hand. Accept a hand. Giving and receiving is a part of a healthy life.

There is no perfect way to give or to receive or to be “balanced”, for that matter. If we allow ourselves to make mistakes and learn as we go, things remain in motion. This helps with the flow of energy, which helps also with allowing giving and receiving.

Meditation has helped me in all aspects of my life including learning from mistakes and learning to receive. If you would like to learn more about meditation and receive help with whatever you are dealing with in your life, feel free to call me at 619-797-0705 or email me at sindi@apetpsychic.com.

Thanks for reading! Enjoy giving and receiving in your unique way and don’t forget that mistakes are part of learning and are simply a part of life. -Sindi

Psychic Readings

During a reading there is always physical space between us. This also assists with the energetic space.

During a psychic reading there is always physical space between us. This also assists with the energetic or spiritual space, which allows for clearer communication.

While, like with any word, you may find multiple definitions, psychic means, “of the soul” or “spirit.” This is the definition that best describes my relationship to the word and what I do. A psychic reading by me is a reading of the soul. It is a reading by me, as spirit. Me, the spiritual being.

Another way to describe what I do is in terms of energy. Even physicists agree that everything is energy. Our emotions, opinions, likes, dislikes, experiences and memories are all stored within us, as energy. Although our thoughts are also energy, I don’t claim to read minds. Instead, I read energy. So although I can tune into your thoughts, it is from a spiritual, instead of an intellectual perspective.

I don’t “figure out” what you are thinking, feeling or going through. I use my spiritual ability of clairvoyance to “see” what is going on. Clairvoyance is “clear seeing” or the ability to see clearly. It is our spiritual ability of seeing or “reading” energy. Clairvoyance is an ability that we all have an use, whether we acknowledge it as such or not. Other spiritual abilities that I have developed and use include my ability to communicate telepathically and feel energy with my hands. These are characteristics that we all have also. We don’t live in a world that, as a whole, validates or encourages these abilities. Because of this, we tend to explain these experiences as other things, such as coincidence, our imagination or they are simply left as unexplained weirdness or phenomena. They can also lead to fear for our bodies because spiritual or psychic experiences can be difficult to intellectually comprehend. Though our body and capable brains may try! Hollywood cinema has done a good job of attaching fear to spiritual abilities and psychic happenings through its presentation in scary movies. Writers, such as, Stephen King, have contributed here also.

While clairvoyance is seeing energy, telepathic communication is “hearing” energy. It is non-verbal, non-physically audible communication. While I “hear” words, I actually am “hearing” energy that I interpret into words. I speak English, so I interpret energy into English so that it makes sense to my body and I can then share the information with you. However, energy can be interpreted into any language.

Here I am giving Wyn a non-touch aura healing. It is an energy cleansing. It helps to cleanse your energy channels and chakras, which does impact the body and how it feels. I like to think of it, as a spiritual massage!

Here I am giving Wyn a non-touch aura healing. It is an energy cleansing. It helps to cleanse your energy channels and chakras, which does impact the body and how it feels. I like to think of it, as a spiritual massage!

In addition to seeing and hearing energy, I “feel” energy. I feel energy with my hands while I am giving someone an aura healing, female healing or head channel cleansing. I feel energy when I am doing any type of healing with my hands. Clairsentience is the ability to feel or sense others’ emotions or feelings. While I have this ability, clearer communication and interpretation occurs when I use my clairvoyance to determine what another is feeling. It allows for each to have their own space vs. merging, which can lead to overwhelm, confusion, irritation and fatigue.

Now days, I am most known for my work with animals. However, I started my reading, healing and communication work with people. It was my love of animals that motivated me to make them a formal part of my practice. I now work not only with pets, but also farm animals and wild animals in and out of captivity. I also read people with and without animals in their life. Although I don’t generally use the term, “medium” to describe myself, I do read the energy of and telepathically communicate with souls that have passed on. Yes. I see dead people.

If you are interested in my services, either in person or long distance, I can be reached by calling 619-797-0705 or by email at sindi@petpsychic.com. I also practice and teach meditation. My Road Trip is a Journey Within

I'm not very skilled and lack experience (obviously!) when it comes to "Selfies" photographs, but self confrontation leading to self healing is a huge part of my life.

I’m not very skilled and lack experience (obviously!) when it comes to “Selfies” photographs, but self confrontation leading to self healing is a huge part of my life.

My self described “working road trip” was initially just an option and somewhat of a romantic notion. I liked the idea of freedom on the road, as well as growing my business and helping others by venturing to different areas. I have met so many lovely animals and people and have had such tremendous self healing experiences that I could never regret my choice to do it.

It has given me extra time to meditate, focus on myself and spend time with my loyal canine companion, Rock. However, it hasn’t all been smooth sailing. There have been times I’ve questioned my decision and contemplated turning back. But despite hardships and challenges, I have chosen to keep my commitment to stay on the road until I come back to San Diego mid March.

Grandma Sally

Happy advance Birthday to my beautiful Grandma Sally. She would have been 95 years old next month. I miss her smile, her laugh, her friendship.

I will be arriving in San Diego March 16 or 17. March 17 would have been my Grandma Sally’s 95th birthday. She passed away in 2012 and I still miss being able to physically see her. Although I can still tune into her spiritually, she has moved on and of course, it is not the same as being able to physically see her, hug her, sit with her, laugh and talk. We talked about everything, including her death. We also talked about her boyfriends who I nicknamed, her “Two Tony’s”; Celebrity Chef, Anthony Bourdain and Tony Soprano. When the actor that played Tony Soprano, James Gandolfini, passed away less than a year after my Grandma’s death, I was shocked and saddened. I hoped that him and my Grandma would at least get to say a passing hello, as spirit.

So much of this journey has been about me realizing how sad my body is. Not just from the death of my Grandma and her ” boyfriend”. I have experienced sad losses throughout my entire life. In order to keep going and functioning, I have put some grieving on hold. This isn’t healthy, nor does it work. If we ignore and do not deal with any aspect of our growth, it can and does effect us. I have dealt with some of the pain, grief, sadness and other heavy emotions and energies associated with my losses, but I am aware of how much is still there.

As a child, I moved often. First from my mother’s womb, then from the hospital room to my first home. Just three weeks after being born I moved again to a different residence. Moving itself is a loss. We let go of one home to make room for the new. So there is, at least usually, some type of a replacement, but loss is involved nonetheless.

This pattern of moving from one place to another continued throughout my childhood and into my teen years. I did live in the same house all four years of high school. What happened when we moved is what brought me the most sadness. Saying goodbye to friends. Over and over and over again. My neighborhood and school playmates and very sadly, often my pets. To this day I have a special affinity for black Labs and Shepherds. The memory of the animal control truck coming to our new house to pick up my friends, Silver, our black Labrador Retriever mix, King, our German Shepherd, and Wolf, our Shepherd/Wolf mix, when I was six years old is burned into my memory with confusion. I still do not understand why we couldn’t keep our dogs or our beautiful cats that were picked up too. There weren’t many cats left in our care at that point because most of them were left behind with a neighbor when we moved from our old house. Just writing this hurts. So many animal friends I loved taken and deserted. So sad! I do remember a cute black kitten that I loved. I should mention I have a thing for black cats to this day too.

Here is one of my new black cat friends, Ace. I met him in Sedona, Arizona at Sedona Pet Supply. Love him!

Here is one of my new black cat friends, Ace. I met him in Sedona, Arizona at Sedona Pet Supply. Love him!

You see why I have so much sadness within me?! I am determined, however to keep working on it. While I need to let my body grieve its losses, I prefer the feeling of happiness. So, I’m going to always aim for that!

As we so often do when there are unresolved issues, I continued the pattern of moving frequently into my adulthood. This created a lack of stability in my childhood. However, it is a familiar feeling to me. We often prefer familiarity, even if it hinders us or may not be the most beneficial option.

One of the other things that became apparent early on in my road trip was my desire to create more stability in my life. Although it makes me cringe a little, I want it for myself, my dog and any other animals that may decide to join us. So even though I may still travel for work or vacations, I want a physical place to call home.

A Time of Illness has Other Meanings

Sleep. It does the body good!

Sleep. It does the body good! Purrrrrr.

I have been home in bed the last couple of days, recovering from what I could call illness, but instead will call what it is… my body wanting me to slow down! When I am ill I take extra time for myself. I rest in bed, sleep and sleep and sleep. It also gives me extra time to meditate, as well as cuddle with my favorite dog companion, Rock. All in all, my life calms down and is quiet when I am ill.

We live in such a busy world and technologically advanced, fast moving society. I enjoy regular meditation times and quiet moments of reflection and self healing. But I admittedly often push myself to do more than my body wants me to. I have slowed down in recent years following the deaths of my Grandma and my dog, Ginger. From them I took the lesson of taking time to smell the roses and cherish moments with the special someones in your life. It is also of the utmost importance to take sufficient time for your body and yourself, as spirit.

DCIM100MEDIA

Meditation can help you to find and follow your unique path. It is a self healing journey.

Even with the lessons I have learned, I sometimes fall back into old patterns. If I am an irresponsible parent and not attentive to my body’s needs, it rebels! It knows I will rest, nurture it and focus more on it when it doesn’t feel well. My body and I have had this pattern for years. I have gotten much better at taking care of it, so it doesn’t have to get my attention in this way as often. But here we are once again. So obviously, I am still working on changing this habit of mine.

I feel much better today, which is why I am writing this blog post. I feel more energetic tonight after sleeping all day yesterday and then resting today. I spent time meditating and healing myself, which of course helped me to further relax and let go of energies not in harmony with me. The physical rest and spiritual energy work helped my body feel better.

Sindi meditating

Meditation has helps me to feel better, create change and be more content in my life.

The meditation techniques that I practice and share with others have been on the planet for a very long time. They were taught in the Ancient Mystery Schools in Egypt, where it is said that Jesus spent time and was an initiate. I, however, learned these techniques here in the United States in classes at a teaching center in Everett, Washington, just north of Seattle. If you are not able to visit their Washington State location, they offer books, CDs and downloadable information to assist in your meditations and healing journey.

I would not be where I am today without the use of these life changing techniques. Here is a link to the CDM Spiritual Teaching Center and also to CDM Publications where you can find their books, CDs and downloadable audio recordings.

Click to visit the CDM website.

Click to visit CDM Publications and learn more about their books, CDs and more.

I teach the techniques I practice and enjoy sharing these life changing tools with others. While a lot of my focus is assisting people with their companion animals, I offer one on one and group sessions for people with and without pets. In addition to long distance sessions, I offer in person office visits at my pet friendly Mission Valley office in San Diego, as well as home visits in the southern California area. I will be returning to the Phoenix area later this year and Yuma, Arizona in January. If you are interested in having me do a presentation or class in your area in or outside of San Diego, contact me via email at sindi@apetpsychic.com or call me at 619-797-0705.
