Psychic Readings for People and Pets – Wild Animals Too!

I started formally doing psychic readings when I was 19 years old. My work originated with people. There were times over the years that someone would have a questions about a pet, but it wasn’t until I moved to San Diego, California in 2007 that things changed.

After the move I found a health focused pet supply store near where I was living. It was a lovely, brand new store that had just what I needed. After speaking to the owner of the store, I ended up being hired to help with special events. I later started working in the store. This gave me the opportunity to learn about dog and cat nutrition, as well as more about animal behavior, especially with dogs.

Around the same time that I started there, I found an office to rent. This was going to be for me to offer psychic readings for people. Although it was a small office, it had the possibility of teaching meditation classes there too. While working at the store, a series of events happened that brought me to a life change “aha” moment. I love animals so much, why don’t I make them a formal part of my practice? So, I did just that and my life as a pet psychic began.

I had already done a reading for my boss whose dog had just passed. This was followed up with readings for co-workers and anybody that wanted one. This was a new way to use my psychic muscle and I was absolutely loving it.

To expand my work and help how I could, I reached out to rescues and shelters, volunteering my services to help raise funds for their missions, and the animals in their care. Did I mention that I was loving all of this?! While my experience reading people ranged many years beforehand, it was my involvement with the San Diego animal loving community that got me known as a psychic, a pet psychic. I loved being involved with pet related public events, such as the Blessing of the Animals event pictured below. I looked forward to it every year. Not only were the animal loving guests and their animal friends fantastic, but I loved that it acknowledged the spiritual aspect of animals. I believe that we are all spiritual beings, whether we are housed in human bodies, dog bodies, cat, horse, fish, alligator, crow, or any other type of physical body. We are all spirit. We are souls. Beings manifesting through physical bodies.

Me, Macaroni and his mom at the Blessing of the Animals event in Old Town San Diego Historical Park in January, 2013. I was doing a public demonstration of psychic reading and animal communication session.

While Wild and Tame Wellness and Communications includes readings and communication with wild animals as well, I am mainly contacted to help with companion animals. Cats and dogs most often, but also birds, ferrets, rabbits, horses and others, including tortoises and bearded dragons. I use the same techniques with animals that I do with people. Over time, my style has evolved, but I still use the same foundational techniques that I started with.

It has been interesting to me that in recent years more and more people that have been pet reading clients, have come to me for readings for themselves and other aspects of their lives. They still ask questions about their animal friends, and if needed, may devote an entire session to them, but there has been a noticeable change. Personally, I see this as a beneficial sign. The happier we are as humans, the happier our animal friends, and all around us will be. So, if we look at ourselves and address our issues, our animal friends don’t have to worry so much about us, and spend as much time trying to heal us. This allows more time for us to enjoy each other as friends, companions, and loved ones. I believe this shift of interest to looking more at ourselves is a reflection of our spiritual evolvement.

Since the pandemic, I have not offered in person readings and sessions. All are remote. While I used to offer audio only, I have introduced readings via Zoom earlier this year. They have been a lot of fun and are the next best thing to being in person!

Have you ever thought about getting a psychic reading? Perhaps you’ve had one, but it has been a while. Got questions about my style of reading? Curious to know what you can ask, and what information and insights you can receive? Please feel free to reach out. I would LOVE to hear from you! Whether for you, your animal friends, or a combination of both, it is your hour, your time and your session to design as you wish. Whether questions only, or questions and an aura or rose/spiritual awareness reading that includes information about past lives. Yes. You have had them, and so have your animal friends. It was actually my curiosity about past lives that got me into psychic readings, meditation and energy healing.

I look forward to the possibility of helping you and your animal friends however I can. I can be reached at 360-601-4358 via call or text, and by email me at sindi@apetpsychic.com.

This is me doing a psychic reading at a public event at the Friends of Cats sanctuary and rescue in El Cajon, CA. As you can see, animals do not need to be physically present to receive a reading. Actually, neither do people. This allows me to offer long distance readings to anyone, anywhere.

Aura Readings

Update on Services

AURA READINGS

Are you on my email mailing list? If you are, you previously learned that I am no longer doing solely animal communication and pet psychic readings. In that same newsletter I also mentioned that if I do offer them again, it will be in a different way. After several months of meditation and contemplation, I will be refocusing and working in areas where I have the most experience.

I started my energy work, healing and reading with people many years ago. It was later that I formally included animals in my practice. I have been working with animals since 2007. This year, I will be going back to my roots! In my service to people, I will help animals because the happier the person, the happier their animal friends will be. By you getting more in touch with yourself you can be more present in your life, including with your pets. Instead of just answering questions, a session with me will start with an aura reading. Your aura is the energy field around you and your body.
During an aura reading, I look at the seven main layers of your aura. Following an aura reading you can ask questions about yourself and and your life, which can include your animal friends.
Below is a drawing I made to accompany an aura reading I received a couple of weeks ago. Yes, I get them too! I received my reading at CDM Spiritual Center in Everett, Washington. It was amazing and so helpful. It reminded me how beneficial receiving this information can be. We are often so close to situations in our lives, especially things we are emotional about. It can be helpful to have a neutral, outside observer to provide insight. Plus, aura readings are really fun! I do rose/spiritual awareness and past life readings also.

An aura reading is a personalized, non-judgmental overview of what is going on with you and your life situations. This includes how you relate to the physical and survival issues, your emotions, communication, clairvoyance and more!

My intent from the beginning of when I started offering readings was to help people to get more in touch with themselves and their own information. My goal was to help humans to validate, accept and use their own abilities to communicate with animals. I believe that returning to working more predominantly with people will allow me to do what I originally intended to do. Your animal friends will still be involved! In fact, they can get aura readings too! All living things have auras!

I also still offer nutrition consulting for dogs and cats and teach meditation techniques to humans. Speaking of which, I will be starting the Meditation Club again very soon!
Thank you all for your support over the years. I hope you choose to continue to play with me, as we enjoy our mutual sharing, learning and changing. – Sindi

Animal Behavior

Do your animal friends sleep harmoniously together? Acceptance can help us then move to a place of change and healing. Focusing on unmet expectations can leave us frustrated and stuck.

Whether your cat is going potty outside of the litter box, your dogs don’t get along or your rabbit seems bored, it can cause stress when our animals’ behaviors don’t meet our desired expectations or we are concerned they aren’t doing okay. Just as with humans, animals experience emotions, anxiety and pain. They can be out of balance and feel disturbed, just as we can.

Illness and discomfort can show up in different ways, with us and our animal friends. Because we all impact each other and our pets reflect us, it can be helpful to focus on ourselves and what is going on with us. The calmer we are, the calmer our animal friends can be. They may still be going through things that are causing them stress or discomfort, but at least our stress and issues won’t be added on to their own.

Isn’t this a cute rabbit!

In my opinion, two of the most important things to realize are:

  1. We ask and expect our domesticated, and sometimes wild animal friends to automatically and easily display behaviors that are not natural for them. When we acknowledge this, we can find greater compassion and validate how well our animal friends actually adapt to our confusing and odd human rules.

    What a gorgeous cat!

  2. Our animal friends and how they reflect us can can give us great insight into ourselves. Does your pet seem bored, afraid or reactive in certain situations? Are you ever bored, afraid or reactive? Of course you are! Just like people, animals can experience aspects of life in all different ways! There isn’t just one way or one “right” way. When we accept things as they are, then we can create change from there, if it is desired. Simply changing our perspective and mindset can help us relax and find lightness in the struggle.

My Books About Animals

Writing is something I have always done. It has a cathartic benefit, as well serving as a fulfilling, creative outlet. Do you enjoy writing?

I love to write! Expressing myself through the written word began with poetry when I was a very young child. I enjoyed writing both long and short poems, including the very short form of Japanese poetry known as Haiku. Some, but not all the verses in my poems were in rhyme.

My poetic explorations expanded to short stories, sometimes comedic, but often dramatic. I then added vocalizing my creative thought in the form of songs. I was awarded my first and only writing award when in the first grade. Although when my first article was published in a magazine, I did feel like that was a bit of an award! It was an exciting day for me, as it had been a long term goal to see my writing in print.

While I appreciate old school methods, the invention of computers has helped make the writing and book making process easier.

Writing is not only a creative expression, but it has become a way for me to further engage and educate. I have wanted to expand my writing projects to publishing my books for some time. Though I have considered traditional publishing methods, self-publishing is my main area of interest. Actually, in this day and age I am primarily interested in starting with ebooks. Printed book options may come later.

Being able to create ebooks is such an awesome option and opportunity! It’s a way for any of us to put our ideas out into the world with little to no financial investment. This fact takes away at least one excuse that some of us humans use to keep us from doing things that we say we want to do and that is, lack of money.

Over the years, in addition to blogging I have had multiple articles published about animal communication, dog and cat nutrition, holistic pet care and other topics. I was happy to have my articles appear in San Diego Pets Magazine before the publication was purchased by the San Diego Humane Society. More recently my articles were published in the Seattle based CityDog Magazine, which is also distributed in the Portland, Oregon area.

I’m currently working on two different books. Both are on the topic of animals. Surprise! If you have any questions about either project you are welcome to contact me at sindi@apetpsychic.com or call me at 360-601-4358.

I love writing for children and reading children’s books, including anything by Dr. Seuss!

One of my upcoming ebooks is a children’s book. The first draft has been finished. I had the opportunity to read it at Barnes & Noble in Vancouver, Washington to a group of elementary school students and their parents and teachers. It was fun! I need to do a little more editing and then complete the ebook creation and uploading process.

The other aforementioned book is the preliminary process with hopes of completion in the next month. It is a book of information to help humans with different aspects of relating to their dogs. In addition to humane training tips for common canine behavior issues, it includes information about dog nutrition, pet wellness, holistic care and other tips for your canine friends’ overall well-being. Don’t worry cat people, I will be writing one for you too. Those with other species of animal friends, stay tuned! I haven’t forgotten you either! So many animals, such a fun time!

If you are interested in pre-ordering either ebook and learning more about what I’m meowing and barking about, let me know.

I am currently in the San Diego area, offering in-person sessions and readings throughout Southern California. I am pre-booking sessions in the Pacific Northwest preparing for my June return to the area. I will be traveling through Oregon and then southern Washington and back up to Seattle and northwestern Washington.

If I can be of help to you and your wild and/or tame animal friends don’t hesitate to contact me.  Thank you for reading my blog!

An Unexpected Crossroads

Life is not perfect. It can get a bit messy. At times it can seem impossible to clean up. Patience can be a challenge when you want it all to be over now. Remembering that life is a learning process can help to allow more patience. But it can still be a challenge to slow down and go through the growing pains while cleaning up the mess! You can do it though and so can I. We can do it!!

If you’ve been following my writings over the years you know that my life path has taken many twists and turns. Some directions have been easier than others. I’ve been blessed to experience many exciting adventures, which have included road trips through different states and meeting new people and animals that have become a part of my life. I’ve had fun and there have also been times that were unpleasant. Such is life! Without all of the different ups and downs, failures and successes, I would not be where I am today. I have always said that life is a canvas. We get to decide what we paint and how we paint it. It can be helpful to remember that all of our experiences play a part in the steps we take. Or choose to not take.

It can seem challenging to refrain from taking a turn when a particular direction is everything you’ve been wishing for. Sometimes the challenge is taking time to know yourself and what you want. It is important to find what is most beneficial for you vs. what others want for you or what you THINK others want for you. Maybe all the “others” really want is for you to be happy. By taking time to let go of expectations, either ours or those of others, we can gain clarity about who we are, what we want and what our life path is.

Recently I made a choice that I did not foresee making. I was excited and content about my situation so making a change was not in my plans. However things occurred that made it obvious to me that I needed to switch my focus. What happened is that I ran smack dab into myself! The good, bad and the ugly. Some wasn’t so ugly, but it still needed to be acknowledged. I could no longer run away or ignore that I needed to clean up some messes that up until them I had been avoiding. Does this sound at all familiar? Has something like this ever happened to you?

Years ago when I was going through a tough time I asked God for help. I asked, “What should I do?” I heard, “Work with animals.” I love animals so much that I was excited about this information. I was a bit shocked because it wasn’t something I had been pursuing at all, but I liked the idea. I remember sharing it with someone who’s opinion mattered to me. This person invalidated the spiritual communication and projected onto me that working with animals was not what I should be doing with my time. I had a low sense of self and allowed this person’s invalidation and judgment to change how I felt about this new insight and information. I potentially allowed myself to stop me from taking steps towards this new focus and change the direction of my life. It wasn’t until over ten years later that my life took me into turns that supported this message of spiritual guidance. It was then that I formerly started on my path as an animal communicator and pet psychic.

Ginger helped me in my transition into working with animals way back when. I have since said a physical goodbye Ginger, but am happy knowing she still exists as the beautiful, bright light that she is. Ginger was spirit when here on Earth and is spirit now, as she continues her spiritual journey. I offer services for souls that are physically present and those that have left their bodies and have passed on. It’s all spiritual communication!

I am now based in Everett, Washington, just north of Seattle. While I have been slowing down on the amount of work I have been doing with animals and their people, my current crossroads is bringing me back to increasing this focus again. Here in Everett, Seattle and other areas of Washington State, as well as Oregon, I offer in-person sessions. I also offer long-distance readings for anyone, anywhere.

If I can help you and your animal friends, whether wild, tame or somewhere in-between, you can call or text me at 360-601-4358 or email me at sindi@apetpsychic.com. I hope to hear from you!

Felines First Rescue and Oregon Ferret Shelter

Felines First Rescue and the Oregon Ferret Shelter are two Oregon non-profit animal welfare organizations that are consistently helping animals in need. They will both be at The Filling Station Pet Supplies in Tigard, Oregon on Saturday, February 25 from 12:00 – 3:00 PM. Along with animals available for adoption, they will be available to answers questions and help educate about how to best care for your cat and ferret friends.

I will also be there offering mini-readings. I will be doing animal communication sessions and psychic readings with all proceeds going to Felines First Rescue and the Oregon Ferret Shelter. My one question readings are open donation, so you can give what you can! First come, first serve and your pets don’t have to be present to receive a reading. Just show up and let me do the rest! Readings are fun, informative and help to enhance the bond between you and your companion animals. I do readings for all animals, whether wild or tame, as well as people. In addition to those present in your life, I also communicate with souls that have passed on. Both animals and humans.

In addition to gaining insight into the behaviors and feelings of your pets, if you need a feline or ferret fix, or you are looking for a new friend to add to your life, consider visiting us on Saturday, February 25. Remember, there is no set amount for my readings. They are open donation with 100% of the proceeds benefiting these two awesome rescue groups.

The Most Important Ingredient in a Cat’s Diet

Sindi visiting with the friendly residents at Friends of Cats shelter in El Cajon, CA.

Sindi visiting with the friendly residents at Friends of Cats shelter in El Cajon, CA.

The most important ingredient in your cat’s diet isn’t actually food. It’s love. Okay. While this actually is true, at least in my belief system, let me change my demeanor to one of a more serious nature and start again.

The most important ingredient in your cat’s diet isn’t actually food. It’s water. This actually is true and not true. Are you confused yet? Cats are 100% carnivores, which means that their digestive systems naturally process meat and only meat. So in reality, the most important ingredient in your cat’s diet is meat. However, the reason I filled in the blank with water is because our commercial pet food industry is producing dehydrating pellets by the tons and calling it food. Regardless of whether there is meat in the pellets or not, the fact that it is a dry food meant for cats is in and of itself potentially harmful. Why? Because, as I mentioned it is dehydrating. When a body, whether animal or human gets dehydrated it starts pulling water from wherever it can get it. Unfortunately, this means that moisture will start being depleted from the organs of that body. This, of course is detrimental. This survival technique of the body can lead to uncomfortable itchy, dry, flaky skin, as well as more serious conditions such as bladder and kidney issues.

water in glass splash

By getting to know your cat and his or her preferences, you can find ways to add additional hydration to their daily routine, including encouraging water consumption. Some cats will drink from a bowl, but you might also consider trying a glass or mug or turning on the bathroom faucet to see if they like the running water. The pet supply industry also makes water fountains and other devices that allow the water to be moving, which can motivate some cats to drink more frequently. I still recommend an all wet food diet, which would eliminate the need to drink as much, if any additional water at all.

Another survival response of the body is that it gets thirsty when it is dehydrated. This is so important because it will motivate the individual to drink liquid. This will hopefully replenish the loss of moisture in the body and if addressed soon enough will lessen the chances of permanent physical damage.

So, if you feed the dry pellets a.k.a. kibble to your cat it will hopefully drink from its water bowl to counteract the dehydration factor of the dry food. The reality though, is that if your cat is drinking from the water bowl, even if he or she is drinking a lot, most likely an adequate amount is not being drank. Why? Because cats instinctively get their water from their food. It is not a natural behavior to seek out water, even though they might at times do so. Both in a domesticated environment and in the wild. Obviously this is a problem when the majority of commercially manufactured pet food is in the form of dry, dehydrating, highly processed kibble.

Okay. Are you still with me? If it is not a natural instinct for them to drink water, how can they possibly get enough of that all important ingredient in their diet? By making sure there is plenty in their bowl. While clean, fresh water changed daily in their water bowl is essential, what I am talking about here is their food bowl!

cat drinking water from glass on kitchen counter

Nothing like a drink of water from their person’s glass to help a feline friend feel bonded! P.S. Kitchen counters are made for paws. Well in some households anyway.

Should you just dump water on their food? Well you can, but I have a better idea. Feed food that is already loaded with water, which would be referred to as wet food; fresh raw, frozen, thawed raw, cooked or canned. Cat food also comes in the form of dehydrated or freeze dried, which you need to add water to before serving. This is an alternative option for some cats. My cat, Misty is on a 100% wet food diet. But I still often add a little water to her food to add additional hydration. She also does drink from her water bowl on occasion, especially when the weather is warmer. Even though she is an indoor cat and our home stays nice and cool, the outside temperature seems to make a difference in whether or not she visits her water bowl.

Wondering how to help your cat or other pets have the highest quality of life possible? In addition to animal communication, energy healing and reading sessions, I offer personalized nutrition consultations for dogs and cats, as well as other animals. Just like with us humans, simply changing a diet can help lessen and heal a wide array of health conditions including, allergies, itchy skin, hot spots, hair loss, body sores, digestive upset, hairballs, watery eyes, arthritis, bladder infections, kidney issues, diabetes and even cancer.
