Live YOUR Life

The last several months have been an important time of reflection for me. I have been reflecting on how I am spending my time and choices I have made. I believe it is essential for us to face ourselves and all of our creations, behaviors and the consequences of our actions and decisions. No matter how difficult, humbling or disturbing it may seem, and how much they may feel like mistakes.

It is impossible to live a life on Earth and not make mistakes! I have learned my greatest lessons and made the most significant changes because of the “mistakes” I have made. The meditation techniques of grounding and being in the center of your head can help us to be more tolerant and non-judgemental of ourselves and others. So these are excellent tools to practice to help us be gentler with ourselves and have a lighter perspective.

It is equally beneficial to acknowledge your successes no matter how “small” they may seem. The important addressing in both of these, whether seeming like a success or not, is validation. Validating what it is. If we acknowledge the truth, what is, versus what we want to pretend it is or wish it would be, we are then in a position to either accept it or change it. If we choose to remain in a state of denial or otherwise pretend a different “truth,” we can do neither of these. If we don’t validate what is, we are not living in reality. If we don’t see where we are, we can not take a step forward to where we want to go, or be!

The meditative visualization techniques that I use give me tools to be more grounded, centered and in the present moment. They allow me, the spirit, to be more fully present with my body. In this experience I am able to see my life and situations more clearly and respond more consciously. Grounding from the first chakra, near the base of the spine, is the foundation of all that I do. When I am not adequately grounded, I am more likely to make more of the challenging to forgive myself type of mistakes. I am also more easily influenced by others and affected by their energy, emotions and opinions. Their wants and desires can seem to become my own, even when they actually are not. Grounding helps me be more steadfast and certain of my beliefs and less impacted by someone else’s judgements and ideas of what I “should” think, believe or do.

When I am in touch with myself, and my unique energy and information I find myself more easily accepting and content with my choices and the results they have led to. I am happy with so much of how I have lived my life. While some experiences still may be challenging to embrace and be at peace with, I love my life! It took time and self-healing to get to more of a place of contentment, and to also be okay with not pleasing others with my choices. It has so often been my extreme desire to live up to others’, or my own, expectations. These really are judgements that can limit and restrict us. The belief that we must be “perfect” and/or live up to any expectation can cause our body stress and fear, and can lead to us stepping off track, and off of our personal path. Is pleasing someone else worth not being true to yourself, and following your unique path? Is trying to fit someone else’s ideal worth losing yourself, hiding yourself, and potentially being unhappy and unfulfilled?

Expectations aren’t always for us to be “better” in some way. We may even believe in an expectation that tells us we should hold ourselves back and be less than we are. Perhaps learning that we should hide our bright light, our beauty, wisdom, talents, or other unique gifts, instead of shining and showing our authentic selves. Why? Even if someone else is comfortable with us making that choice, who do we really help? Certainly not ourselves! Nor do we help others by setting an example to not use or share our gifts. By shining we show others that they can do it too. What a way to encourage others to be themselves!

Think of your favorite band. What you removed one person, either a singer or musician from that band. Each member adds not only their talent, creativity and showmanship, but they also add their unique energy, completely changing the dynamics of the group.

Everything is energy. That which we like, and that which we don’t like. Physicists have proven the concept, that everything is energy. The air we breathe, the water we drink, our thoughts, words, emotions, tension in our bodies, and all else. Absolutely everything! Grounding from the first chakra, the energy center near the base of your spine, is a highly effective tool for releasing energy that we no longer want. We can use our grounding to release energy and relax the body. We can let go of expectations, stress, tension, overwhelming emotions, discomfort, anxiety, lies and other people’s energies that may be affecting us.

By letting go of energy we don’t want, we make room for more of our energy that we do want, and what we desire in the present. Out with the old and in with the new! Energy is vibrations. These vibrations can be interpreted as colors, which can be further understood to have different meanings. A color of energy doesn’t always have the same meaning. What it “means” depends on the quality, clarity and density of the vibration. During an energy reading a.k.a. a reading of you, the soul, and your energy a.k.a. a psychic reading, I look at and interpret, or “read” your energy. This allows me to answer your questions and convey information with the intention of assisting you in your life. Even if it is an animal communication session, and reading of your animal friend, you will receive the information from the reading. Animal or pet readings, always include the humans in their lives because we impact each other so much. I currently offer remote readings via Zoom, as well as continuing to have an audio only option.

If you are interested in learning more about yourself, and your energy, you may want to consider taking one of my meditation classes. I learned to meditate at the CDM Spiritual Center in Everett, Washington. The techniques and information helped me so much, I decided I wanted to share this important, life-changing information with others. So, I completed CDM’s training program and became a certified meditation teacher.

I currently teach group classes and facilitate one-on-one meditation coaching sessions which include personalized guided meditations. The techniques alone help support you in your life. Sessions provide additional encouragement, a listening ear, and more detailed meditation instruction. I refer to myself as a coach, but in addition to being a teacher, I’m really more like a spiritual cheerleader!

Most of my events are open to the general public. However, I am also available for private presentations for groups, businesses, and non-profit organizations. With the exception of in-person presentations, and private speaking engagements, all meditation options are currently offered remotely via Zoom. Another service I provide is recording a personalized meditation for you. Or maybe for a friend or family member that could use some assistance. Gift certificates are available for all of my services and they can be emailed to you.

Animals are in the Present

Hailey and I at San Diego Humane Society oh so many years ago! Now it is a memory from the past, but at the time, I was definitely in the present with this feline beauty.

If you are wanting to have clearer communication with your animal friends, I encourage you to be in the present moment. Animals are great teachers for us humans because they are focused more fully in the present moment. We tend to divide our awareness, attention and energies between the past and future and hopefully at least some in the present, as well.

Why do we spend time in the past? Perhaps we are troubled by a past experience and it is keeping us from fully moving forward in our life. Maybe there is someone we are having a tough time forgiving or letting go of. Possibly we are struggling with forgiving ourselves for something that we have guilt, remorse or shame about from the past. Another possibility is that we are stuck on an experience or time period that we felt was more enjoyable than our present reality. There can be a number of things that can draw our attention to the past.

Most of us find ourselves at times thinking about the past, dwelling on memories, reliving or even regretting aspects of our past history. What happens when we spend time with our attention focused in the past? We are more likely to experience heavier emotions and feelings of apathy, depression, grief and unhappiness. The more we are in the present moment, the lighter and brighter we will find our energy and perspective to be.

We may also find ourselves focusing on the future. Perhaps there are things you want to create and you move your attention to the future, fantasizing about what life would be like with those additions. Or maybe you are worried about what may or may not happen in the future. You may then go into the future in an attempt to protect yourself or others and control the potential outcome of situations. While this may be a common practice for some of us humans, no matter how hard we try to master this plan, it doesn’t work! You don’t have to “go” to the present to be aware of it and make plans that will affect the future outcome. You can remain with your attention in the present, while being aware of the future.

When you have a lot of your attention and energy in the future, you are more likely to experience fear, nervousness, anxiety and even stress. Remember, your body can only be in one place, the present moment. So when you have your attention in the future, you are not at home, in the present with your body. It can grow afraid when you are not present with it to take care of it.

You are spirit. As spirit, a spiritual being, a soul, you can be wherever you put your attention. You can focus in the past, present or future. You can be in another city, state or even country, just by thinking about it. However, your body can only be in one place, right here and right now in the present moment. When you are out of the present moment visiting elsewhere you are not able to be as much in charge of what you are creating through your body. You don’t have as much control of what you are manifesting into the physical reality. You are more likely to be influenced by others and invaded by others’ energy, ideas, opinions, emotions and even pain. Your body can become a vessel for someone else, instead of for you. Have you ever said, “I don’t feel like myself today.” Well, you probably weren’t! The more present you are with your body, the more you can own it for yourself. The more of your energy you can bring into your body. The more present you are with your body, the less afraid your body will feel. You will be less likely to feel stress or depression. The more you, as spirit are in the present moment with your body, the calmer you will feel. The more in charge you will be. The more confident and empowered you will become.

Your animal friends, nature and other aspects of the physical world including the sensations, experiences and feelings of your body can help draw your attention, as spirit more to the present moment. Enjoy!

Your point of power is now. Right now, in the present. When you are in the past or future, you deplete your energies and lessen your ability to use your power, your energy and information in the present. The more in the present moment you are, the clearer your communication will be with yourself, your body, your God and your human and animal friends.

The form of meditation that I practice and teach helps you to be more in the present moment. The easy to use, powerful, meditative, visualization techniques help you, the spirit to work more in harmony with your body. They assist you to be more present and more consciously aware of what you are creating and manifesting through your physical body.

Is My Animal Friend Happy?

Even cute little guinea pigs can experience stress, anxiety and a full range of emotions. Get to know your animal friends and get to know yourself. By changing how you feel, you impact all around you, including your pets.

One of the questions I often get asked during an animal communication and psychic reading session is whether or not a pet is happy. Dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, guinea pigs, horses and other animals in our lives are impacted by us and how we are feeling. Are we happy, stressed, sad, angry, excited, enthusiastic, worried or anxious? How do our animal friends mirror these emotions and experiences? In all different ways!

While emotional responses can be exhibited in behavioral issues or changes they can sometimes be less obvious. Has your dog started itching, biting or gnawing himself frequently? If you rule out some of the obvious culprits, such as fleas or allergies, what could it be? It could be an outlet for stress. Why is he stressed? It can be beneficial to evaluate your stress level. Is there something that happened recently or that is currently going on that you find stressful? Everything is energy and energy can be transferred from one to the other; whether human or animal.

Other known signs of stress in animals include birds plucking out their feathers, cats overgrooming themselves, animals not wanting to eat and hiding. These behaviors can also be sign of illness, so they shouldn’t be ignored.

If there is conflict going on in your household or changes that have created a stressful environment, your pets will be effected. However some may show outward signs more obviously than others. Just like all people are different, so are all animals. Some are more go with the flow, letting things roll of their backs. Others may have a lot going on under a facade of courage, stoicism and “I’m fine!”

This dog has a treat. His panting could be a sign of stress that he feels trying to guard his tasty treasure.

Some signs of stress may seem completely natural. That is because in some situations they are natural, but they can communicate much more. There are a number of behaviors that are termed “calming signals” in dogs that can be signs of stress. Lip licks, panting, yawning, ignoring a situation by sniffing the ground or looking away are just some examples. They can be an attempt to calm a situation or another dog, though they can be used when relating to people too. For example, if it isn’t hot out and your dog doesn’t have a reason to be panting, it could be a sign of stress.

It can be helpful to not only pay attention to signs of stress in our animal friends, but to also be aware of how you are feeling yourself. If you are stressed, upset or unhappy about something in your life perhaps it needs some attention. It may be a situation that can be changed through communication with someone or perhaps it simply needs to be approached with a new perspective. Sometimes the way to create beneficial change is to completely leave a situation. Each scenario is unique, so it can be helpful to reflect on it, as such.

In addition to animal communication, energy healing and reading I teach meditation techniques that can help to reduce stress, as well as be more aware of how you are feeling. The style of meditation that I practice and share with others provides tools to help release energy you no longer want to make more room for what you want in the present. This process helps you to heal and create change in any aspect of your life. This includes your relationships with your pets.

To learn more, feel free to contact me. I will be restarting my Meditation Club soon. Everyone in the club receives a new recorded, guided meditation each month. Meditation literally saved my life. More than once and it still helps me in my life. Meditation has provided me with tools in many situations, including loss of loved ones, making changes and depression. If you are looking for support, meditation is just a deep breath away!

Asking for Help

Sindi meditating

Meditation has helps me to feel better, create change and be more present in my life.

It can be hard to ask for help. Especially when you are used to doing everything for yourself. Or you believe that you must do everything for yourself. Perhaps you believe it makes you weak to ask for help or that you are not worthy of assistance from others. Neither one of those beliefs are true. Maybe you may feel like you are dumping on someone or burdening them with your problems. I know I run into limiting beliefs that have kept me from reaching out when I could have used a hand. It also has interfered with me accepting help when it has been offered. This can be invalidating to the person that is doing the giving and wants to help.

I like to give. I am not alone on that.  It can feel good to give.  When we ask for help and/or accept help we give others the opportunity to give to us. It is important for us to learn to receive, as well as give. Allowing others the room to give to us is also beneficial.

We don’t have to give less to receive or give to ourselves. We just need to remember the importance of balance. Both giving and receiving. If all we do is give, the well runs dry. We must replenish it and re-fill our well so that we can continue to give. Otherwise we are drained and depleted with nothing left to give, but fatigue, stress and other fun things like irritation and even resentment.

What people view as a polite greeting, regardless of mood, is very different from how a dog with "good" manners and non-threatening intentions do.

Lend a hand. Accept a hand. Giving and receiving is a part of a healthy life.

There is no perfect way to give or to receive or to be “balanced”, for that matter. If we allow ourselves to make mistakes and learn as we go, things remain in motion. This helps with the flow of energy, which helps also with allowing giving and receiving.

Meditation has helped me in all aspects of my life including learning from mistakes and learning to receive. If you would like to learn more about meditation and receive help with whatever you are dealing with in your life, feel free to call me at 619-797-0705 or email me at sindi@apetpsychic.com.

Thanks for reading! Enjoy giving and receiving in your unique way and don’t forget that mistakes are part of learning and are simply a part of life. -Sindi

Living Your Life

Earth.

Life on Earth can be many things. Joyous is one of the options.

There are so many things to do in this world. Everyday, in so many different areas of our lives, we put pressure on ourselves and allow others to apply pressure also. Expectations can cause stress, anxiety and fear. They can freeze us and keep us from living joyfully and truly living our lives. Other people’s expectations add to our own. While they may motivate us, they also invalidate us.

Whether verbally spoken or silently and perhaps passive aggressively given to us, expectations are seldom met. They are sometimes seemingly met and sometimes even exceeded. One thing that can lead to unmet expectations is unclear communication and the fact that we are each individuals.

We can use examples as simple as how to place the toilet paper on the roll. Do you like the paper over or under the roll? How about the infamous toothpaste question. Do you squeeze the tube from the bottom, the middle, the top? These are things that can lead to arguments, as opinions differ. In reality, who is to say what the “right” way is. I’m here to say… who cares!

toilet paper on rollThere are much more important things in this world than the flow of toilet paper and toothpaste! I would rather be happy and spread happiness than be anxiety ridden and share that anxiety. I feel that often in this physical human world, we are taught to blame others. We are taught to judge and with judgment often comes meanness. With meanness there is seldom joy and happiness. Even if being mean gives someone satisfaction and a feeling of power, those aren’t signs of being happy. A “feeling” of power is not actually power. It is the stroking of an ego.

My perception of ego may be different than some people’s. We all have an ego. We can grow it or diminish it. Ego isn’t a “bad” thing, it is simply ” a thing.” Something that we all have. Our ego is a collection of our stored pain. Invalidation, criticism, loneliness, heartache and physical, sexual, emotional and other types of abuse are all forms of pain. There are many ways to deal with our pain. One way is to simply to not deal with. To forget it’s there, ignore it, bury it deep underneath a smile or a frown and live our lives not acknowledging the hurts inside. Some people lash out at others instead of dealing with their pain. Others turn it on themselves, beating themselves up with little room for self-forgiveness. Do any of these behaviors sound familiar? Maybe you have some other ways of moving forward with the existence of pain. Keeping busy is a favorite way to avoid our pain in our fast moving, multi-tasking, accomplishment oriented human society.

girl relaxing on tree trunk contentI am here to tell you that there is another way to live. While we may all be able to find times when we have experienced all of these modes of dealing or not dealing with our pain, what would you say if I told you you can actually let it go? We can not change what has happened, but we can change our relation to past experiences and how they effect us. We can also release stored emotions and pain energy allowing us to be more neutral and less judgmental of ourselves and those around us. Instead of punishing ourselves and others for not being perfect or living up to those pesky, rigid expectations, we can learn. Every situation is an opportunity for learning. Giving ourselves and others room to learn allows for movement instead of stagnation. It creates space for love instead of instilling fear.

I know people and you probably do to, that use invalidation to control others. It is a way these individuals have learned to get others to do what they want. It is also a way to punish, intimidate and exert power over another. They may use a condescending tone or not verbally say anything at all. Instead they may communicate their judgement by sharing their opinion through telepathic thoughts, invading others with their energy, give a disapproving look or avoid interactions all together. Living in a highly judgmental society, we have all learned to judge. Because of this, it is safe to say, we have all done our share of judging at one time or another. Or many times and many others. 🙂

just do it nikeThe style of meditation that I practice and teach provides meditation techniques to help us to be more neutral and less judgmental of ourselves and others. Thank goodness!! These meditation techniques also help us to let go of energy we no longer want. Physicists agree that everything is energy. Absolutely everything! Our thoughts, emotions, expectations and judgments are all energy! Other people’s thoughts, opinions and expectations are also energy. Anyone’s energy, ours’ or others’, can effect us. But we can decide what energy we want to keep and what we want to let go of. There is freewill for each of us. Let others live their lives how they want to. You get to choose how YOU want to live yours. You do not need permission from anyone to be happy. As Beaverton, Oregon’s own Nike encourages us, “Just Do It!”
