Enjoying a rainy day in "sunny" Arizona with my skilled napping buddy. ;-)

Enjoying a rainy day in “sunny” Arizona with my skilled napping buddy. 😉

Today is a rainy, and therefore a relaxing Monday following a day off for me and Rock on Sunday. Downtime is important. We need to allow the body time to rest and rejuvenate.

Meditation is a wonderful way to take time for yourself. Sleep is also important. Meditation assists with our healing process, as does sleep. I enjoy both.

I also enjoy warm beverages on cold days. So today I will be going to Starbucks to cash in on my free birthday drink. Starbucks has coconut milk available now. I tried it in a hot chocolate and it was so delicious! I’m thinking in that direction again today, although a coconut milk Mocha sounds pretty  amazing too. Hmmmm…

Starbucks now offers a delicious coconut milk option!

Starbucks now offers a delicious coconut milk option! I love it!

Another new thing I’m excited about is that I will be doing my first ever event at Whole Foods Market! If you aren’t familiar with Whole Foods, it is a natural, health focused grocery store chain. They have abundant organic items, including beautiful produce. I love their tasty, fresh deli items too! It is easy to walk out of there with a more than initially intended because everything looks so good!

My Holistic Pet Care and Animal Communication presentation and demonstration will be on Wednesday, March 11 at 6:00 PM. It’s FREE and open to the public. With the exception of certified service animals, this event is for humans only.

Just as fresh food does our bodies good, the same is for our animal friends. Choosing a species appropriate diet in the freshest form possible will provide great benefits!

Ancient Mystery School Meditation

There are many forms of meditation. Enjoying nature is one of them!

There are many forms of meditation. Enjoying nature is one of them!

When I was a frustrated, depressed and very angry teenager, it was meditation that saved me. At the ripe old age of 18 years old, it was meditation that helped me to move from a place of apathy, fatigue and depression to an energetic space of optimism and enthusiasm. I began to experience life differently. I was an extremely shy, fearful child, which led to continued shyness and fear, as an insecure teen.

When I enrolled in an eight week beginning meditation class, I was nonchalant about my decision. I had absolutely no idea that that class would change my life forever. In retrospect, it was that Meditation I class that gave me hope. It got me back in touch with myself as spirit. I actually saw myself, as spirit consciously for the first time that I could remember. I had an awareness of myself and other spirits when I was a child. Although I was still aware there was something more than what I physically saw, it was difficult to access under a heavy cloak of misery.

As a spiritual being with a physical body here on Earth, I had collected pain, doubt, shame and feelings of worthlessness. So that moment in my Meditation I class is a memory that changed me and my life forever. There were only two of us students that were in the class. If you put on events or teach classes, remember that no matter how few or how many attend, you can make a difference!

Meditation has helped me and continues to help me in all aspects of my life.

Meditation has helped me and continues to help me in all aspects of my life.

I am forever grateful to all of my many teachers at the CDM Teaching Center in Everett, WA that I had over the years that followed that initial class. The simple, powerful, meditative, visualization techniques that they teach, and I now share too, are the foundation of all that I do. They are tools that can help you to change your mood, increase your vitality and self esteem and improve your overall well being. You CAN change your life with meditation! I did and continue to heal and grow with the help of these techniques.

People often ask what type of meditation I practice. They want a name. One of my students deemed it Sindi Meditation. Haha! While it isn’t Sindi Meditation and may not have a formal name, I have given it some labels for people at times. Energy Meditation, Psychic Meditation, Self Healing Meditation, Spirit Body Meditation, CDM Meditation and I just thought of this one: Ancient Mystery School Meditation!

Why that name? These easy to use, powerful, life changing meditation techniques are ancient! Often information categorized within the group of metaphysical teachings are labeled New Age. The techniques that I share and practice are not New Age because they are not new! They have been on the planet for a very long time, including the ancient mystery schools where Jesus studied. Yes… I did say, Jesus!

Speaking of Jesus the Christ, if you want clearer communication with him, as well as yourself, God and other spiritual teachers, including Buddah, meditation is the way! The form of meditation that I teach and practice helps spirit and body to work more in harmony. You can more consciously create your life and manifest yourself and your unique energy using this style of meditation. For me, meditation is not about escaping or not feeling. It is about more consciously experiencing and creating your life. Whether you consider yourself spiritual and not religious, Christian, Buddhist, Christian Scientist, Catholic, Mormon, Hindu, Muslim,Taoist or have chosen another spiritual focus, you can benefit from meditation. Regardless of our beliefs, we are all in physical bodies. We can reduce stress, improve sleep, change habits and have more fun by taking time for ourselves. So if you do not believe in God and the spiritual realm, are Agnostic or Atheist, you don’t have to miss out!! Even physicists agree that everything is energy! If you prefer a scientific, instead of a spiritual focus, simply validate your great ability to acknowledge, release and change your energy! Everyone can do this. So why not…. go forth and meditate!

Whether as an individual or with a group, meditation can be a fun, rejuvenating activity in your life!

Whether as an individual or with a group, meditation can be a fun, rejuvenating activity in your life!

Birth and Death

waves at sunset

Life is full of change, similar to the changes that occur each time a new set of waves flow on and off the sandy shore.

Today my friend’s father died at 5:45 AM. Today also happens to be my birthday. This is the day I was born, oh so many years ago. My friend and I will always remember the date, February 26, but for different reasons.

Birth and death are both transitional experiences. With birth, the soul transitions into the body and the earth plane. In death, the soul permanently leaves its particular body and transitions back into the spiritual realm.

While we can look at physical, scientific and medical reasons why a body lives or dies, it is actually the soul that determines this difference. It is the soul and its energetic presence that gives the body life. It is the departure of this same being that creates the experience of death.

Adjusting to a new life, whether our own or an addition to our own, as with the birth of a child, takes time. Processing the occurance of death also takes time. It is important to allow our body the time to process, reflect and grieve. There are a number of emotions one might experience related to a death; grief, sadness, depression, anger, guilt.

Bodies feel. They experience pain, sadness, grief, as well as lighter emotions, such as joy.

Bodies feel. They experience pain, sadness, grief, as well as lighter emotions, such as joy.

Our reaction to each death experience may have similarities, but also differences. Depending on our relationship with the soul that has passed, the intensity of our emotional response may differ. If you are a close relative, friend or caregiver, for example. These particular roles may evoke different feelings than those of a casual acquaintance, Facebook friend or stranger. If you are both a family member and the caregiver, there will be a unique intensity all its own.

Caring for a loved one at the end of their life can be emotional, exhausting and overwhelming. Watching someone die or approach death can be stressful and painful, especially if suffering is involved. Because of these intense feelings their may be a sense of relief after they pass. This may be followed by guilt, due to judgment.

If we can allow our body its complete range of emotions without judgment, we can more easily move through the grieving process. Or any experience, for that matter. When we judge, fight, resist or deny our emotions, we can get stuck. This can interfere with us reaching a place of acceptance. It can take us longer to reach a place of peace with a death.

Saying goodbye to Ginger was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. Dealing with death can be a challenge for those left living.

Saying goodbye to beautiful, loving Ginger was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. Dealing with death can be a challenge for those left living. But we can do it! Allow the time and space for your healing. Be gentle and kind to yourself.

Because of my personal experiences with death and the benefit others can be to us during a time of loss, I offer help in this area. I work with both animals and people providing one on one and group grief counseling, energy healing, psychic reading and telepathic communication with the soul that has passed. Individual and group pet loss support and assistance with end of life decisions may also include guided meditation and other services.

If you or someone you know are struggling with loss, grief, pain, depression, stress, fear or anxiety related to death or any aspect of life’s many experiences, I can help! Through energy healing, psychic reading, talking and meditating, you can regain a more neutral, non-judgmental perspective of yourself, your emotions and others.

Arizona Desert Wildlife

At the beginning of one of our morning walks the air smelled like skunk. The smell seemed to dissapate, as we continued on, so I forgot about it.

A Rock Walk. ;-)

A walk with Rock is always an adventure. 🙂

Rock loves his walks. He has a lot of energy and a curious Retriever nose, disguised in a Chihuahua body. So he sniffed and I looked. He enjoyed the smells while I rejoiced in the sights of the desert with trees a.k.a. Prescott, Arizona.

We have had fun exploring and I like Rock’s curiosity and sense of adventure. We were walking on a path lined with trees. Over to the left I heard a noise and saw something move. I actually thought it was a trash bag blowing in the wind for some reason. It wasn’t. Haha! Nor was it a skunk. It was a Javelina also known as a Peccary or Skunk Pig, hence the odor I smelled earlier.

There were actually two of them. Rock saw them too and surprisingly didn’t bark. In fact I found it interesting and was surprised he wasn’t more reactive. However, I could tell he was mainly trying to figure out what in the heck these things were! He huffed a few times, stared at them and changed positions, but didn’t agress towards them. I’m sure what helped is that they were calm and although they looked at us for a moment, they went right back to foraging for food. They weren’t interested or concerned about us.

Someone had told me about there existence in Arizona, so I had heard about them before. I forgot about them until that moment though. I had been told that they can be aggressive and mean, so I was watching them with caution, waiting to see if they would charge us, but again they were not threatened by us being there. I love seeing animals in their natural habitat. It makes me so happy! After several moments of this live Natural Geographic documentary, Rock wanted to leave. So we did. I would have liked to have snapped photos, but my phone battery was out of juice. I have included two photos in this post that I was able to download from MorgueFile.com. It is an awesome website with a great selection of beautiful stock photos available for FREE, with some restrictions. I have been using them for years. Photos may have varying use criteria, so be sure and read and abide by their guidlines. Here’s a link to MorgueFile.com.

I was over the top excited to see these two Javelinas and wanted to learn more about them. I was able to thanks to Google! Here’s a Wikipedia article about these wild pig like creatures if you would like to learn more. Plus another photo!

While I am mainly known for working with people and there pets, I have helped people with wild animals in and out of captivity, as well as farm animals. I also provide services for people without animals. Any being, living or that has passed on. I am a spiritual communicator and reader of souls. Want more information? Call me at 619-797-0705.

Happy Hiking

Rock sleeping in. :)

Rock was a bit of a sleepyhead yesterday morning. I love that he likes to sleep in. I do too, when I am able to. 🙂

Today I feel happy and energized. Yesterday was blissful and peaceful. Rock was a bit of a sleepyhead, so we took our time getting started yesterday morning. It was a relaxing way to begin our day.

After we both were awake, we each had some water and a little something to eat before heading to check out a recommended hiking trail. And wow! Was it ever beautiful! I felt so joyful, enthusiastic and in touch with the earth and nature!

We can get so busy. It is easy to forget how much taking time out for ourselves can be rejuvenating and actually give us more energy. The more we replenish ourselves and our own well of energy, the more we have to give to others. Giving to ourselves does not take away from others. It diminishes depletion and deprivation within ourselves and creates more abundance so that we have more to share; more to give. Don’t believe me? Try it! You may be pleasantly surprised! 🙂

Hiking trail in Prescott, Arizona surrounded by trees.

The trail that led to relaxation, rejuvenation and many internal, as well as external observations. It truly was a walking meditation with long term healing results, along with joyous memories.

During our replenishing nature hike, we drank in the beauty of the Prescott, Arizona landscape. Trees as far as the eye could see, mountains, birds singing and a cool breeze that would sometimes change to a temporary gust of energetic twirling wind. It would make a whistling sound that made it seem like the trees were speaking to us. At times it felt a bit eerie, but mostly it was a gentle, yet powerful healing experience.

Rock wanted to turn back before I did, so I carried him for awhile, so he could rest his legs and have an upper level view of the world. After a little while, I agreed that it was time to turn back. When I set him down, Rock took off running seeming to be in a great hurry to get out of there. Instead of remaining on the trail, he decide to scale a huge boulder with great zeal! He wanted to keep going up higher, but there wasn’t sufficient footing for my larger than Chihuahua paw sized feet, so I had to put an end to the ascent. Sorry Rock! And sorry to the rock Rock was climbing for putting an end to the fun it was providing and the obvious appreciation it was receiving from Chi-ROCK.

Unfortunately, during his adventure, my Rock got pricked by a small cactus that was growing in a crevice of mother nature’s rock. Luckily I found no cactus needles or prickly hairs embedded in Rock’s mouth where he had apparently tried to kiss the cactus. Following several lip licks and self provided mouth massage movements, Rock appeared fine, as if nothing had happened and we continued our descent down the large rock formation. I was attempting to take a photo of Rock on his rock, but taking care of his potential injury took presadence, so you will have to use your imagination for this particular visual. 🙂 Luckily, Rock was okay and there were no lasting effects or reoccuring signs that he had had his first face to face run in with a cactus.

As of today there still have been no signs of residual effects, so all is well, thank goodness! We didn’t hike in the mountains today, but took what has become a daily walk in one of the pretty local parks. We actually take several walks everyday, but the park walk was our longest one today.

Morning Nature Meditation for Two

I meditated outside this morning in the beauty of Prescott, Arizona. If you haven’t been here before, it’s a small college town with a relaxing feel. I really love the historical downtown area and the pretty outskirts with beautiful rocks, mountains and trees, trees, TREES!!!

My meditation spot this morning. How lucky am I!

My meditation spot this morning. How lucky am I! Feeling very grateful today!!

Being around greenery and more specifically, the aforementioned trees makes me so happy and at peace. Which is why I chose to meditate outside this morning. So that my loyal Chi-ROCK-Dawg, could be near me while I meditated, I set up his own meditation chair complete with his bed and his favorite chew. However, he opted for my lap instead!

La meditation pour deux!

La meditation pour deux, Prescott, Arizona.

It was so lovely with singing birds, cool breeze and all that nature has to offer. I’m looking forward to another morning meditation tomorrow, outdoors with my loyal canine companion. I will set up his own chair again. But of course I will have no objections if he chooses to cuddle with me instead.

We are planning on being here for awhile longer. We may even come back after my next event in Sedona on February 20 and 21. I will be at Sedona Pet Supply in Bashas’ Shopping Center at 140 Coffee Pot Drive offering one on one animal communication readings. If your in the area, stop by!

If you aren’t nearby and would like a long distance animal communication session, psychic reading, energy healing, pet nutrition consultation or positive reinforcement training assistance, call me at 619-797-0705. I’m here to help!

A Time of Illness has Other Meanings

Sleep. It does the body good!

Sleep. It does the body good! Purrrrrr.

I have been home in bed the last couple of days, recovering from what I could call illness, but instead will call what it is… my body wanting me to slow down! When I am ill I take extra time for myself. I rest in bed, sleep and sleep and sleep. It also gives me extra time to meditate, as well as cuddle with my favorite dog companion, Rock. All in all, my life calms down and is quiet when I am ill.

We live in such a busy world and technologically advanced, fast moving society. I enjoy regular meditation times and quiet moments of reflection and self healing. But I admittedly often push myself to do more than my body wants me to. I have slowed down in recent years following the deaths of my Grandma and my dog, Ginger. From them I took the lesson of taking time to smell the roses and cherish moments with the special someones in your life. It is also of the utmost importance to take sufficient time for your body and yourself, as spirit.

DCIM100MEDIA

Meditation can help you to find and follow your unique path. It is a self healing journey.

Even with the lessons I have learned, I sometimes fall back into old patterns. If I am an irresponsible parent and not attentive to my body’s needs, it rebels! It knows I will rest, nurture it and focus more on it when it doesn’t feel well. My body and I have had this pattern for years. I have gotten much better at taking care of it, so it doesn’t have to get my attention in this way as often. But here we are once again. So obviously, I am still working on changing this habit of mine.

I feel much better today, which is why I am writing this blog post. I feel more energetic tonight after sleeping all day yesterday and then resting today. I spent time meditating and healing myself, which of course helped me to further relax and let go of energies not in harmony with me. The physical rest and spiritual energy work helped my body feel better.

Sindi meditating

Meditation has helps me to feel better, create change and be more content in my life.

The meditation techniques that I practice and share with others have been on the planet for a very long time. They were taught in the Ancient Mystery Schools in Egypt, where it is said that Jesus spent time and was an initiate. I, however, learned these techniques here in the United States in classes at a teaching center in Everett, Washington, just north of Seattle. If you are not able to visit their Washington State location, they offer books, CDs and downloadable information to assist in your meditations and healing journey.

I would not be where I am today without the use of these life changing techniques. Here is a link to the CDM Spiritual Teaching Center and also to CDM Publications where you can find their books, CDs and downloadable audio recordings.

Click to visit the CDM website.

Click to visit CDM Publications and learn more about their books, CDs and more.

I teach the techniques I practice and enjoy sharing these life changing tools with others. While a lot of my focus is assisting people with their companion animals, I offer one on one and group sessions for people with and without pets. In addition to long distance sessions, I offer in person office visits at my pet friendly Mission Valley office in San Diego, as well as home visits in the southern California area. I will be returning to the Phoenix area later this year and Yuma, Arizona in January. If you are interested in having me do a presentation or class in your area in or outside of San Diego, contact me via email at sindi@apetpsychic.com or call me at 619-797-0705.

Rock and Sindi’s Excellent Adventure

Sindi and her Chi dog, Rock

Rock makes everything in my life a lot more fun, including road trips!

Although we started planning for my Animal Communication presentation and demonstration months ago, my visit to Phoenix came and went last weekend. It was a full weekend with readings Saturday, Sunday and I was even able to sneak one last one in on Monday morning. My talk was a lot of fun and I felt very welcomed by the participants. The proceeds from my talk went to the animal loving non-profit animal rescue, Poverty’s Pets of Phoenix.

I enjoyed my time at the Noble Beast Natural Pet Market, where my presentation and the majority of my readings took place. The owner and staff were absolutely lovely and accommodating. When it comes to shopping, I would rather shop for my dog any day of the week. So I especially love visits to health conscious, independently owned pet supply stores, such as this beautiful one in Phoenix, Arizona located at 1005 Camelback Road. I bought a car harness for Rock that hooks to the seat belt. I liked the look of it and how it fit him and he seemed pretty excited about it too! Noble Beast has a variety of humane collars, harnesses and leashes, as well as healthy food and treats, beds and carriers and a wonderful assortment of toys. I loved the entire experience!

Rock and I met a number of great new friends. In addition to some related to the Noble Beast and my work, the lovely dog sitters, Brandi and Christian with Rise and Shine Petsitting. They were so kind and compassionate with Rock. I could tell that they truly loved him and he loved them too. What a relief that as a pet parent not have to worry about my beloved animal friend when I’m gone!

In addition to Rise and Shine Petsitting’s recommendation of checking out the beautiful Encanto Park, the owner of Noble Beast pet supply store, suggested I check out Dreamy Draw, when I asked her for a nice place to go for a hike. Although by the time Rock and I made it there on our way out of town on Monday, it was too hot to go for an actual hike, we enjoyed a nice walk and doggie potty break before hitting the road.

It took a while to get back, as I got a little turned around, as I was trying to leave town. I wondered if that was a sign that I wasn’t supposed to leave. 😉 But we eventually got on the right freeway, with the help of a kind, young man at a local 7-11 who took the time to help me. We stopped several times along the way for puppy and mommy snack and potty breaks. I also stopped in El Centro and got a new toy for Sir Rock at Ross there. If you don’t know, Ross stores have a pet section with beds, dog clothes, toys and more.

We finally made it back to San Diego around 10:00 PM. Before heading home, Rock and I drove straight to the site where I feed my feral kitty. My friend fed him while I was gone, so while he might have missed me, he didn’t miss out on his nightly feeding. Since I haven’t told you about my feral feline friend yet, I realize that that needs to be a blog post in the near future!

Well… I have an animal communication session and people and pet psychic reading to get ready for. So until next time… Hug your animal babies and have a Wild and/or Tame day!
