Play Time

Sindi and a Blue and Gold Macaw parrot

I was told by her rescuers, that this parrot was flirting with me. I believed them until she bit me. Ouch! A love bite?

I haven’t always been formally referred to as an animal communicator or pet psychic. I have always had a deep affinity for and connection with animals, but I used to be more involved with the arts than animals.

For us pet parents, playtime usually means fun activities with our companion animals. For me it does, but it also represents something else in my life. At the liberal arts college that I graduated from, The Evergreen State College in Olympia, Washington, I studied film and video production and the art that came out of the Holocaust, but mostly I focused on Theatre.

I had done acting previously and did some in college. In addition to acting, I fell in love with playwrighting! I also found producing fulfilling and a good outlet for my acquired skill set.

WhileIMG_0103 I am not directly involved with the production of plays, I am active in the San Diego Theatre scene in another way. I am the Organizer of the San Diego Theatre and Performing Arts Meetup group and have been since 2012. I network with local theatres and get discount tickets for my group. I am privileged to get to see a lot of diverse performances in San Diego County.

Last night I saw “Kingdom City” at the La Jolla Playhouse. I really enjoyed it! It was engaging, interesting, well acted and funny! As an audience member I felt I was participating and brought into the show. What an awesome quality for a show to have! It just finished it’s preview week so you still have time to go see it!! Me and my group go to just about every show at the La Jolla Playhouse. Regardless of your genre preference, they are always well produced shows. A variety of genres and approaches with something for everyone ranging from family friendly presentations to thought provoking, envelope pushing creativity. Yes. Even in La Jolla things can get a bit edgy at times! Some favorites to mention include, “Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots”, “Blood and Gifts”, “The Second City” touring improv troupe, the uber talented improv troupe, “Kamchatka” and “The Car Plays” from their innovative “Without Walls” (WOW) festival. They also present their DNA Series, which helps new works in their development process. Next up with them is “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” in November and then “The Second City” funny people are coming back and we are going in December.

After last night’s performance, my group and I will next be going to “Kinky Boots” at Civic Theatre with Broadway San Diego. The music is by Cyndi Lauper, so you know it’s going to be a fun show! It won a Tony Award for Best Musical in 2013. We have seen other entertaining, well produced musicals with Broadway San Diego. They bring excellent touring productions to our area to make any musical fan happy!

We005-1 also often attend plays with the Cygnet Theatre Company. They perform in Old Town San Diego and present a variety of shows throughout the year. Extremely diverse shows with everything from light hearted musicals, like “Pageant” that we recently saw to edgy, brave pieces that may be more likely to feel at home in New York, LA or Seattle. I love that about them! One of my favorites was “The MotherF***er with the Hat.” I actually saw that one twice! Laugh out loud funny, raw and real with an authentic edge. Last year we went to their annual production of “The Christmas Carol” and I plan on bringing the group again this year. An awesome show!

MyFB_IMG_1409285243299 latest theatrical obsession, which I have nicknamed my newest “hobby” is the “I can’t believe I just went to their first show last month” Diversionary Theatre in North Park. I have been over the top impressed by them and floored by both shows I have seen there; “bare: a pop opera” and “Regrets Only”, which was one of the funniest plays I have ever seen. If it is still running when you read this, go see it! Please!!! Some of my favorite lines ever are in that play. It is smart and fun with great acting and stellar comic timing by the cast. I hope to go to as many of their shows as I can! Starting with their upcoming free performance, ” Stop Kiss.”

We have also attended shows at The Old Globe Theater in Balboa Park, the San Diego Symphony and others, including stand up comedy shows and community theatre. It is free to join my group and you can find us at http://www.Meetup.com/san-diego-theatre.

IMG_20140904_173813169I do get extra excited when a play includes an animal character, whether played by a human such as in last year’s, “Waiting” which brought me to tears and was part of “The Car Plays” at La Jolla Playhouse or a real animal actor, such as the beautiful Golden Retriever, Parker (Parker Pup on Facebook).

Tonight though, it will just be me and my dog, Rock playing ourselves on our evening walk. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Indoor Activities for Dogs When It’s Too Hot, Too Cold or Just for Fun

kong

The all mighty Kong!!! It comes in different sizes to suit all ages and sizes of canine companions. ๐Ÿ™‚

When it’s too hot to spend time outside, I find the dogs at my house nap a lot. If you want to break it up with some fun activities, here are some ideas. Please note: Cats and other companion animals like training games, treats and playtime too!

1) Fill a KONG toy with wet food or stuff with meat or favorite treats. Serve, as is or if using wet food, you can freeze it if you want it to take longer to eat all the food.
2) I believe that training should be fun! It also can provide beneficial mental stimulation. Teach a new trick, such as “High-5”, “Shake” or “Speak.” You can work on skills like, “Sit”, “Stay”, “Come” or “Loose Leash Walking” inside too. Google “Positive Reinforcement Training” for humane training techniques. Never use training approaches or techniques that you feel uncomfortable with or that are emotionally, mentally or physically harmful to your companion animals.

Positive reinforcement training rewards the desired behaviors, which helps the animal to prefer implementing that behavior themselves. This is a great way to increase the bond with your animal friends. Cats and other animals respond to these humane training techniques too. For when it's hot out, cold out, or any time at all!

3) Get creative! Think of fun game variations that will be engaging to your animal friends. “Hide and Seek” can be taught. I have played it with both cats and dogs. You can start with saying, “Peek a Boo” around a corner. Then when you go back into hiding, wait for them to find you. You can repeat several times, if they don’t investigate right away.
4) Have them wait in the other room while you go hide treats in various places. This can be a great opportunity to help teach “Stay” and “Come” also. After all is hidden, have them “Go Find It!” When teaching new games or training of any kind, you want to set your petsย up for success. So start with an easy spot that they can see and say, or as I like to do, enthusiastically encourage, them to “Go Find It!” You can do this as many times as needed, until it seems they have the hang of it. Then make it a little harder and increase the difficulty if you want, so that it continues to be interesting and fun. Of course, for many, any involvement of treats is interesting AND fun!!!
5) Have a conversation with your animal friends. Even if you don’t believe they understand you, you will notice that they enjoy the attention, validation and recognition. And even if you feel like you are making it up or “just pretending,” allow yourself to receive messages and know what they are communicating to you.

Enjoy your special times with your animal friends and stay cool all! I am posting this in the heat of summer, but you may want to try these activities when it’s too cold to go outside or just for the fun of it to enhance your relationship with your animal friends.

My Vegan Challenge

tofu and veggies

I used to eat tofu and a number of tasty, processed soy products. It is still processed food, so not as healthy as fresh. And then I learned that USA soy is not good for us at all! Of course there are always different opinions. When you go fresh and preferably locally grown, organic, that of course is the healthiest, most nutritious option.

For years I was a vegetarian. For about three weeks of that time I tried my hand, or should I say my hand to mouth, as a vegan. I found the experience to be stressful. I had no idea how many animal products were, and are, in our food. That is, our processed foods. Whey, for example, is a milk derivative. If you want to claim the title of vegan, you not only don’t eat meat, but you also don’t eat dairy or any other ingredient that came from an animal, including honey.

Back then, I ate more processed foods, so I was checking the ingredients labels and setting many things back down on the grocery store shelves. I lacked information about how to successfully become vegan in the most healthful way. I found the process of being vegan to be time consuming and frustrating. So…. I quit. I was, however, a successful vegetarian. The thought of eating animal flesh has always repulsed me and has been unappetizing. I started by cutting out hamburger, after seeing a sickening description of what ground beef is. It was the “Juiceman” on TV that explained it was fat with some blood mixed in. He might have even said it included ground bone. I can’t remember exactly. So that is paraphrasing, but is mainly what I took from it. Disgusting! Then I cut all red meat and next went poultry. I remember one Thanksgiving looking at the cooked bird on the counter and seeing that it was a body. It was an actual physical body that had been killed and cooked. It was a carcass and it was shocking that we, as humans ate this.

This may look delicious to you, but to me it looks like a body. Because it is! It is a turkey carcass and there is nothing appetizing to me about eating it!

This may look delicious to you, but to me it looks like a body. Because it is! It is a turkey carcass and there is nothing appetizing to me about eating it!

I never ate turkey again. That is, I never ate turkey again until I became an un-vegetarian. A couple of years after becoming my grandma’s main caregiver, my body had become tired. I self diagnosed myself and decided I needed more iron. In addition to that, I had learned that American made tofu and other soy products were not healthy. In fact,ย they should be avoided completely. With these sources of protein gone, what was I to do?! I slowly went back to eating meat.

Shortly thereafter I went to an acupuncturist for the first time in my life. I was scared of the thought of voluntarily letting someone poke me with needles, so I avoided it until that one day. The one day that I experienced the absolute relaxing, rejuvenating effects of needle poking acupuncture!!! While there, they evaluated my lifestyle and health habits, including what I ate. They discovered that I needed more “Chi” in my blood and the most effective way to achieve this is by eating meat. I told them I had recently started adding it back into my diet. They thought that was the way to go to help nourish my blood.

bell pepper dish

Fresh bell peppers and onions are delicious, nutritious and beautiful!

One difference that adding meat back into my diet made, is that I bruised less often. I was used to bruising easily. Although I didn’t notice it right away, after going a week without meat recently and ending up with several nasty bruises, I had one of the “Aha!” moments. Eating meat provided me with additional nutrients that helped my body to bruise less easily!

So as I embark on this new self induced “Vegan Challenge,” I am adding many iron rich foods, including, raisins, apricots and spinach. It’s a bit of an experiment, but I am hoping it does the trick. If it doesn’t, I will work to find what food addition is needed to replace what I get from meat that helps with this issue.

Well…. I’m off to do animal communication readings at the House Rabbit Society’s new Adoption Center Grand Opening. So excited! Stay tuned for more Vegan Challenge updates! I aim to eat healthy and eat humane!

A Time of Illness has Other Meanings

Sleep. It does the body good!

Sleep. It does the body good! Purrrrrr.

I have been home in bed the last couple of days, recovering from what I could call illness, but instead will call what it is… my body wanting me to slow down! When I am ill I take extra time for myself. I rest in bed, sleep and sleep and sleep. It also gives me extra time to meditate, as well as cuddle with my favorite dog companion, Rock. All in all, my life calms down and is quiet when I am ill.

We live in such a busy world and technologically advanced, fast moving society. I enjoy regular meditation times and quiet moments of reflection and self healing. But I admittedly often push myself to do more than my body wants me to. I have slowed down in recent years following the deaths of my Grandma and my dog, Ginger. From them I took the lesson of taking time to smell the roses and cherish moments with the special someones in your life. It is also of the utmost importance to take sufficient time for your body and yourself, as spirit.

DCIM100MEDIA

Meditation can help you to find and follow your unique path. It is a self healing journey.

Even with the lessons I have learned, I sometimes fall back into old patterns. If I am an irresponsible parent and not attentive to my body’s needs, it rebels! It knows I will rest, nurture it and focus more on it when it doesn’t feel well. My body and I have had this pattern for years. I have gotten much better at taking care of it, so it doesn’t have to get my attention in this way as often. But here we are once again. So obviously, I am still working on changing this habit of mine.

I feel much better today, which is why I am writing this blog post. I feel more energetic tonight after sleeping all day yesterday and then resting today. I spent time meditating and healing myself, which of course helped me to further relax and let go of energies not in harmony with me. The physical rest and spiritual energy work helped my body feel better.

Sindi meditating

Meditation has helps me to feel better, create change and be more content in my life.

The meditation techniques that I practice and share with others have been on the planet for a very long time. They were taught in the Ancient Mystery Schools in Egypt, where it is said that Jesus spent time and was an initiate. I, however, learned these techniques here in the United States in classes at a teaching center in Everett, Washington, just north of Seattle. If you are not able to visit their Washington State location, they offer books, CDs and downloadable information to assist in your meditations and healing journey.

I would not be where I am today without the use of these life changing techniques. Here is a link to the CDM Spiritual Teaching Center and also to CDM Publications where you can find their books, CDs and downloadable audio recordings.

Click to visit the CDM website.

Click to visit CDM Publications and learn more about their books, CDs and more.

I teach the techniques I practice and enjoy sharing these life changing tools with others. While a lot of my focus is assisting people with their companion animals, I offer one on one and group sessions for people with and without pets. In addition to long distance sessions, I offer in person office visits at my pet friendly Mission Valley office in San Diego, as well as home visits in the southern California area. I will be returning to the Phoenix area later this year and Yuma, Arizona in January. If you are interested in having me do a presentation or class in your area in or outside of San Diego, contact me via email at sindi@apetpsychic.com or call me at 619-797-0705.

Bragging Rights

kid butterfly

Before children learn the “rules,” to be modest and downplay their strengths and favored attributes, they neutrally and joyfully remark about themselves. Instead of turning it down, let’s turn it up! Learn from kids and be proud of yourself. There is only one YOU!!!

A very insightful friend of mine said something to me that I wanted to share. She said that one thing she doesn’t like about our society is that we are taught not to be boastful, but that it is encouraged to have self-esteem. She was commenting on how we, as people learn to not accept compliments, but instead, disagree with the compliment giver. Here’s an example. If the compliment is, “You’re pretty,” then the trained response may be, “No. I’m not.” We may later learn the polite response is, simply to say, “thank you.” How do you feel when you respond by acknowledging it with a thank you? How do you feel if you respond by invalidating the compliment giver and disagreeing with their complimentary view of you?

We also may learn to apologize for our strengths and if we mention something we are confident about, we, ourselves may feel uncomfortable about this, or others may label us as being egotistical or arrogant. Perhaps there is a belief that if we own one of our gifts are strengths then we are saying others are not as strong in this area.

So what is okay and what is not okay? Are we only allowed to have silent confidence? If we share with others something about ourselves we are excited about, do we risk certain judgment, criticism and less than pleasant responses?

dr seuss

I may be able to admit that I am a good writer, but Dr. Seuss is my favorite writer! And Christopher Durang is my favorite playwright. ๐Ÿ™‚

Here is another example. I am a good writer. I think I am a good writer. I have been told throughout my life that I am a good writer. At this point in my life, after years of practice, successful writing projects, becoming a published writer and receiving payment for some of my writing, I feel confident that I not only think I am a good writer, but I am in fact a good writer. I am not a perfect writer, however and I have never claimed to be perfect. Not everyone may like my style of writing, but I am still a skilled writer. Me knowing and stating that I am a good writer does not take anything away from anyone else’s writing abilities. Yet often, when we excel in an area, whether it is a natural attribute or a learned skill, we attract admirers and haters. Some people will love, appreciate and admire our strengths while others will be competitive and possibly feel that it threatens them, effects them in a non-beneficial way, makes them look bad or takes something away for them. Often it can trigger insecurity in someone.

We all have insecurities. We all have strengths and weaknesses. One of my strengths is writing. However, there are plenty of things that are not strengths. I do not know how to fix my broken car, change a car’s oil, do complex mathematical equations, rock climb, fly an airplane, cut a person’s hair, play guitar, sew, play cribbage, work as a barista, scuba dive and you will never see me skydive! Okay. So never say never, but performing risky stunts, like jumping out of a plane isn’t something I gravitate towards.

Okay. So I came clean with you and admitted that I believe I am a good writer. Now it’s your turn. Think of at least one of your strengths and validate it. Take a deep breath and let go of anything that says this is not a strength. Let go of invalidation, doubt and any interference to you admitting, owning and appreciating this strength. It is a gift you have and its okay to own it and let the world see it. Shine baby shine!

Oh and just to share… here’s a link to an article I wrote for San Diego Pets Magazine, which was recently bought by the San Diego Humane Society. A new version of the magazine will be out later this year. The Little Dogs’ Big Problem. By, Sindi Somers.

Me and my Rock.

Me and my Rock. My Chi-ROCK-Wah! ๐Ÿ˜‰

If you want help letting go of invalidation, criticism and anything else that may be interfering with your happiness and your ability to validate your gifts, I can help. With either a one-on-one private session, energy healing or perhaps learning some of the life changing meditation techniques that I practice and teach, I can help with your process. Feel free to email me at sindi@apetpsychic.com or call me at 619-797-0705.

Getting Controversial in North Park

Here I am giving Tim an aura healing. Radar is helping!

Psychic reader and healer giving Tim an aura healing i Old Town San Diego. Radar is helping!

This Friday, May 2 at 7:00 PM, I will be giving an Animal Communication presentation and demonstration. It will last until about 8:45 PM and is $18 per person. This particular event is for people only, so please leave your animal friends at home. Those under 18 are welcome if accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.

I have given a variety of talks over the years, including Holistic Cat Care and Holistic Dog Care. I have taught meditation classes and workshops and led guided meditation for people and people with their dogs. It seems that the most popular topic I have yet to present is Animal Communication.

My goal is to help people to discover and validate their ability to consciously communicate with their companion animals. Even physicists agree that everything is energy. We store our emotions, thoughts, experiences and dreams all as energy. Not just us humans, but all animals too. As an energy healer, I feel energy. As a clairvoyant and psychic reader I see energy. As an animal communicator I engage in telepathic communication, as well as use my psychic reading abilities to receive and relay clear messages from animals to their people. I do the same for people without animals. I use the same approach because not only is everything energy, but we are spirit. All of us with bodies are spirits; animals and humans.

As a psychic, I have also been referred to, as a Medium. This term is commonly used to describe someone that talks to the dead or can otherwise tune into, sense and/or communicate with those that have passed on. I personally am hesitant to call myself a medium because I do not “channel” other spirit, other than myself. Some mediums channel the souls that have passed or other beings. I channel myself and it is me who interacts directly with the souls that have passed, whether spirits that have been associated with human or animal bodies. I communicate for them vs. them communicating through my body. I find that having separate spaces to be more beneficial.

Energy Healer Sindi giving Wyn a non-touch aura cleansing.

Animal Communicator and Energy Healer Sindi giving Wyn a non-touch aura cleansing in San Diego.

I am spirit. You are spirit. Your animal and human friends and family are also spirit. We manifest through our own bodies. Souls can choose to allow other spirits to manifest, invade or be channeled through their bodies. I, however, feel best, healthiest and happiest, when it is me, myself as spirit, flowing through my body. When I experience someone else’s energy, whether they themselves have a body or are spirit without a body, I don’t feel well. Others’ energy in my body and space can make me feel tired, overwhelmed, depressed, insecure, confused, agitated, irritated, fearful, shut down and otherwise uncomfortable.

When I was 18 years old, I was blessed to learn meditative visualization techniques to assist me to consciously channel myself, flow and manifest through my own body. I learned them from CDM, a spiritual teaching center in Everett, Washington, just north of Seattle. By grounding, centering and releasing energy, I can protect and own my space, as well as let go of energies I may pick up that I don’t want to interfere with my well being.

Yuma and Phoenix and Sedona, Oh My!

On the road again. Well... almost!

On the road again. Well… almost! Yuma, Phoenix, Chandler and Sedona… Arizona, here I come! ๐Ÿ™‚

It all started with a little trip to Yuma! It actually was a pretty big and awesome trip. The Palms RV Resort saw my TV interview on YouTube and then invited me to give an Animal Communication presentation and demonstration as part of their annual PetPalooza event. I had a great time and met many lovely animal lovers and their animal friends. The staff and guests were gracious hosts and very kindly welcomed me. I am looking forward to going back in January of 2015!

Desert beauty in Arizona.

Breaking through the California border, intrigued my interest. My decision to venture beyond Yuma came next. Last month I was thrilled to offer my first Animal Communication presentation and demonstration in Phoenix, Arizona. It was hosted by the independently owned, health focused, pet supply store called the Noble Beast Natural Pet Market. The animal loving owner, staff and customers were all lovely and welcoming. We were able to work together to raise funds for the Phoenix animal rescue, Poverty’s Pets! The loving caregivers of Rise and Shine Petsitting took excellent care of my favorite traveling companion, Rock, while I was working. Huge thanks to everyone!

This weekend marks leg three of my Arizona adventure! I will be south of Phoenix in Chandler, Arizona at the Choice Pet Market offering 10 – 15 minute pet psychic readings and animal communication sessions from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 5th. They are first come, first serve and Pay What You Can. While in Arizona, I will be spending time in Phoenix and am hoping to venture up to Sedona. People keep telling me I need to go there and when I say people, I mean a lot of people, unrelated that don’t know each other. When you get a heavy dose of multiple messages like that, well… I’m thinking it would be a beneficial idea for me to check it out!

Rock and Sindi’s Excellent Adventure

Sindi and her Chi dog, Rock

Rock makes everything in my life a lot more fun, including road trips!

Although we started planning for my Animal Communication presentation and demonstration months ago, my visit to Phoenix came and went last weekend. It was a full weekend with readings Saturday, Sunday and I was even able to sneak one last one in on Monday morning. My talk was a lot of fun and I felt very welcomed by the participants. The proceeds from my talk went to the animal loving non-profit animal rescue, Poverty’s Pets of Phoenix.

I enjoyed my time at the Noble Beast Natural Pet Market, where my presentation and the majority of my readings took place. The owner and staff were absolutely lovely and accommodating. When it comes to shopping, I would rather shop for my dog any day of the week. So I especially love visits to health conscious, independently owned pet supply stores, such as this beautiful one in Phoenix, Arizona located at 1005 Camelback Road. I bought a car harness for Rock that hooks to the seat belt. I liked the look of it and how it fit him and he seemed pretty excited about it too! Noble Beast has a variety of humane collars, harnesses and leashes, as well as healthy food and treats, beds and carriers and a wonderful assortment of toys. I loved the entire experience!

Rock and I met a number of great new friends. In addition to some related to the Noble Beast and my work, the lovely dog sitters, Brandi and Christian with Rise and Shine Petsitting. They were so kind and compassionate with Rock. I could tell that they truly loved him and he loved them too. What a relief that as a pet parent not have to worry about my beloved animal friend when I’m gone!

In addition to Rise and Shine Petsitting’s recommendation of checking out the beautiful Encanto Park, the owner of Noble Beast pet supply store, suggested I check out Dreamy Draw, when I asked her for a nice place to go for a hike. Although by the time Rock and I made it there on our way out of town on Monday, it was too hot to go for an actual hike, we enjoyed a nice walk and doggie potty break before hitting the road.

It took a while to get back, as I got a little turned around, as I was trying to leave town. I wondered if that was a sign that I wasn’t supposed to leave. ๐Ÿ˜‰ But we eventually got on the right freeway, with the help of a kind, young man at a local 7-11 who took the time to help me. We stopped several times along the way for puppy and mommy snack and potty breaks. I also stopped in El Centro and got a new toy for Sir Rock at Ross there. If you don’t know, Ross stores have a pet section with beds, dog clothes, toys and more.

We finally made it back to San Diego around 10:00 PM. Before heading home, Rock and I drove straight to the site where I feed my feral kitty. My friend fed him while I was gone, so while he might have missed me, he didn’t miss out on his nightly feeding. Since I haven’t told you about my feral feline friend yet, I realize that that needs to be a blog post in the near future!

Well… I have an animal communication session and people and pet psychic reading to get ready for. So until next time… Hug your animal babies and have a Wild and/or Tame day!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day and Happy Birthday, Grandma!

Grandma Sally

Happy Birthday to my beautiful Grandma Sally. She would have been 94 years old today.

Today would have been my Grandma Sally’s 94th birthday. She passed away in 2012. We had a unique Grandma/Granddaughter relationship. She was not only my Grandma, but also one of my best friends. I loved hearing her laugh, so I would often crack jokes. I performed stand up comedy for her in her living room for over two years before I ever stepped on a San Diego stage. She was the best audience ever! She had quite a sense of humor too and would sometimes shock me with what came out of her mouth! She was still my Grandma after all! But after the shock left my laugh would linger and every time I thought and think of what she said, it made and makes me laugh.

Grandma Sally cried tears of joy and happiness when President Obama was elected. Being born in 1920, I imagine she may have thought such a day would never happen when the United States would elect an African American president. Her favorite movie was, “Brokeback Mountain.” She said to me once, if anyone sees that movie and still has a problem with gay people, well… there’s just no hope for them!” Her favorite TV show was “The Sopranos.” She would proudly tell her friends it was, “the unedited version.” She was naturally compassionate and accepting of others. She truly liked people and sincerely appreciated differences. She had two “boyfriends,” both named Tony. I called them her “Two Tonys.” Celebrity Chef, Anthony Bourdain and the character, Tony Soprano. She liked the bad boys!

Grandma kissing favorite bear.

My Grandma loved bears. Here is one of her favorites that I gave her.

Like me, my grandma loved animals. Her absolute favorite being bears. After moving down here in 2007, each year on Christmas I would get her a new bear. I am blessed to have the teddy bear collection that we created together. I associate warm memories with it.

More than any person I have ever met, she appreciated the beauty of the moment. In a short walk from her front door to her car, she would notice how blue the sky looked, how pretty the flowers were and would stop to listen to the birds sing. Happy Birthday, sweet Grandma and Happy St. Patrick’s Day! She loved being born on St. Patrick’s Day. She would say, “everybody celebrates my birthday!” So today, whether or not you will be formally celebrating, I encourage you to stop and experience and appreciate the moment. I hope it puts a smile on your face the way it did for my Grandma Sally. I love you so, so much Grandma. Thank you for all you taught me and continue to teach me. I miss having you here with me physically, but am so glad I know that you, the soul, will always exist.

I haven’t updated my comedy website since before she passed away. I still have our true story that became one of my jokes on the front page, if you would like to read it.

A Fresh Day

I love black labs!

I have always loved black labs. One of my childhood dogs was a black lab mix named Silver. Very loving memories.

It is an absolutely beautiful day in San Diego! That is… if you like blue skies and sunshine. After posting this, I am going to be spending some time with two of my favorite beings who happened to be housed in doggie bodies. One is my Chi-Watch-Dawg and the other is my housemates’ black lab, who is an amazing watch dog all on his own. I love them both. I had fun playing with them earlier. We also did one of their favorite activities… Tricks for Treats! It’s training really, but to them, they just do things like sit and stay and receive yummy treats in exchange.

I have a session later today and I am really excited about it. I feel blessed every time someone invites me into their lives, as an animal communicator and psychic reader. It’s an experience like no other. It is a soul to soul communication. We are spirit. Souls manifesting through bodies. During a session, I communicate and read the spiritual being and what is going on within its body and external physical environment.

There’s a little food right there. Let me get it for you, mom!

If you have questions about your companion animal’s history or whether or not introducing a new pet is beneficial at this time, call me at 619-797-0705 or email sindi@apetpsychic.com. Maybe you just want to be sure your animal friend knows how much you love them. Or you want to find out what he or she might want more of in their life. Do they like their food? Do they like going to doggie daycare or doing agility? Are they getting enough exercise? Any and all questions and topics are welcomed! As you know, I am not a veterinarian and do not replace a vet at any time. If your pet is displaying signs of distress, new behaviors or symptoms of any kind, I recommend ruling out the medical first. Then we can address the energy behind it all.

My goal is to help you get in touch with your own information about what is best for you and your furry and not so furry friends. Thanks for reading and I hope to hear from you soon!
