HUMANe

cow in fence

“The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by how its animals are treated.” -Mahatma Gandhi

I find it interesting that the majority of the word humane is human. Add an “e” and you are good. Why I am commenting on this is because some humans can be amazingly inhumane.

Is calling someone inhumane a judgment or a fact? Since we each have our own threshold of what is acceptable humane behavior, it must be a judgment. Or we can reword it by saying it’s subjective. This softens it a bit.

I like to think that the vast majority of us would agree that withholding needed food and water from an animal or human in our care is inhumane. Where do we go from there? To me it is inhumane to leave an animal, or human for that matter outside of shelter in heat or cold. I’m not even going to add the word “extreme” to those words because once again it can be open for interpretation.

If a person isn’t consciously lying at the time, everything we say and do emanates from what we believe to be true. Our beliefs may not be our true beliefs. From birth or even conception, we are gathering input from our external environment. Taking in opinions, judgments and the beliefs of others. We try to figure out the world based on other people’s information. What will keep us safe? What will make us likable? How to get what we want. How to make money. How to communicate. Why does anything happen as it does in the world? These and any and all questions we ponder can come with abundant and differing answers depending on who you talk to. Is it possible for there to be more than one “right” answer? I believe the answer is, “yes.” Not in subjects such as math, perhaps. But if we explore our lives, what is true for one person may be, not only untrue for someone else, but it could actually be harmful or detrimental in some cases.

Allowing each other’s differences is something we, as a species talk about a lot. I find that in most scenarios it depends on what the difference is and who it is in front of. This and any election is a great example of that. Both sides are certain they are right and much effort, time and energy is spent trying to convince and persuade others to follow suit. There are, of course other parties involved in the political game, but we still remain an essentially two-party country.

I will end by saying two things.

  1. What is “right” for one person may not be “right” for another.
  2. It is possible to change your beliefs. Not just superficially because you’ve been told you “should”, but deeply and truly.
Sindi meditating

Meditation has helps me to feel better, create change and be more present and content in my life.

If you read my blog, articles or have ever talked to me,in any form you may have already heard me state that physicists have proven, everything is energy. This includes thoughts, emotions, judgments, whether or ours or someone else’s. If you have found you have adopted a lot of other people’s information that is interfering with you getting clear on your own beliefs and what you want to do, feel free to contact me. A reading of your energy can help clarify things. If you want to go a step further in creating deep, true and if desired, permanent changes to any aspect of your belief system and energy, I have something else for you. Meditation. The style of meditation that I practice and share with others provides tools to not only reduce stress, improve sleep and help you to be more in the present moment, but  also to release unwanted energies. This letting go process can make more room for energies that you want to experience. Your true beliefs and answers, your emotions, clear information about yourself and your path are what is important to you.

You are spirit; a soul, a spiritual being. Getting in touch with yourself, your information and your body and its emotions can help you to find your own truths. This process can help you to more fully manifest and express yourself, as well as assist you to lead a happier, easier and more fulfilling life.

I can be reached by email at sindi@apetpsychic.com and by phone. I will be facilitating two Doggie Meditation events in Tigard, Oregon. One in November and one in December. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Learn to meditate with your dog! Why?! Because isn’t everything more fun with your favorite canine friend(s)?! That’s my information talking there. 😉

Thanks for reading my blog! I hope to hear from you and also hope you have a wild and/or tame day!

The Most Important Ingredient in a Cat’s Diet

Sindi visiting with the friendly residents at Friends of Cats shelter in El Cajon, CA.

Sindi visiting with the friendly residents at Friends of Cats shelter in El Cajon, CA.

The most important ingredient in your cat’s diet isn’t actually food. It’s love. Okay. While this actually is true, at least in my belief system, let me change my demeanor to one of a more serious nature and start again.

The most important ingredient in your cat’s diet isn’t actually food. It’s water. This actually is true and not true. Are you confused yet? Cats are 100% carnivores, which means that their digestive systems naturally process meat and only meat. So in reality, the most important ingredient in your cat’s diet is meat. However, the reason I filled in the blank with water is because our commercial pet food industry is producing dehydrating pellets by the tons and calling it food. Regardless of whether there is meat in the pellets or not, the fact that it is a dry food meant for cats is in and of itself potentially harmful. Why? Because, as I mentioned it is dehydrating. When a body, whether animal or human gets dehydrated it starts pulling water from wherever it can get it. Unfortunately, this means that moisture will start being depleted from the organs of that body. This, of course is detrimental. This survival technique of the body can lead to uncomfortable itchy, dry, flaky skin, as well as more serious conditions such as bladder and kidney issues.

water in glass splash

By getting to know your cat and his or her preferences, you can find ways to add additional hydration to their daily routine, including encouraging water consumption. Some cats will drink from a bowl, but you might also consider trying a glass or mug or turning on the bathroom faucet to see if they like the running water. The pet supply industry also makes water fountains and other devices that allow the water to be moving, which can motivate some cats to drink more frequently. I still recommend an all wet food diet, which would eliminate the need to drink as much, if any additional water at all.

Another survival response of the body is that it gets thirsty when it is dehydrated. This is so important because it will motivate the individual to drink liquid. This will hopefully replenish the loss of moisture in the body and if addressed soon enough will lessen the chances of permanent physical damage.

So, if you feed the dry pellets a.k.a. kibble to your cat it will hopefully drink from its water bowl to counteract the dehydration factor of the dry food. The reality though, is that if your cat is drinking from the water bowl, even if he or she is drinking a lot, most likely an adequate amount is not being drank. Why? Because cats instinctively get their water from their food. It is not a natural behavior to seek out water, even though they might at times do so. Both in a domesticated environment and in the wild. Obviously this is a problem when the majority of commercially manufactured pet food is in the form of dry, dehydrating, highly processed kibble.

Okay. Are you still with me? If it is not a natural instinct for them to drink water, how can they possibly get enough of that all important ingredient in their diet? By making sure there is plenty in their bowl. While clean, fresh water changed daily in their water bowl is essential, what I am talking about here is their food bowl!

cat drinking water from glass on kitchen counter

Nothing like a drink of water from their person’s glass to help a feline friend feel bonded! P.S. Kitchen counters are made for paws. Well in some households anyway.

Should you just dump water on their food? Well you can, but I have a better idea. Feed food that is already loaded with water, which would be referred to as wet food; fresh raw, frozen, thawed raw, cooked or canned. Cat food also comes in the form of dehydrated or freeze dried, which you need to add water to before serving. This is an alternative option for some cats. My cat, Misty is on a 100% wet food diet. But I still often add a little water to her food to add additional hydration. She also does drink from her water bowl on occasion, especially when the weather is warmer. Even though she is an indoor cat and our home stays nice and cool, the outside temperature seems to make a difference in whether or not she visits her water bowl.

Wondering how to help your cat or other pets have the highest quality of life possible? In addition to animal communication, energy healing and reading sessions, I offer personalized nutrition consultations for dogs and cats, as well as other animals. Just like with us humans, simply changing a diet can help lessen and heal a wide array of health conditions including, allergies, itchy skin, hot spots, hair loss, body sores, digestive upset, hairballs, watery eyes, arthritis, bladder infections, kidney issues, diabetes and even cancer.

I Want to Marry YOU!

Nature is many people's church. I know I feel great joy when I am still amongst trees and other natural beauty.

Nature is many people’s church. I know I feel great joy when I am still, sitting or walking among trees and other natural beauty.

I have had a lot of jobs, worn many different hats and have worked in a variety of environments. Did you know that in addition to my love of animals and writing, I am a wedding officiant?

It’s true! I performed my first wedding in 1990 in Washington State. I am still able to legally marry people in Washington, California and most other states including Oregon, where I currently reside.

I believe there are many paths to God and honor all faiths. If you are agnostic or atheist, I also perform civil ceremonies and have done so many times. Personally, I do believe without a doubt that God exists. That is my personal belief. It may not match your beliefs or information, but God is a huge part of my life. This belief and my relationship with God helps me feel supported. It makes my life easier at times and definitely more fulfilling. But if that is not your feeling and it is other beliefs that feel right to you, then okay!

This is a challenging world. My spiritual beliefs help me tremendously in sad or tough times and help my life to be more joyous in happy times. They work for me. I want this for everyone. Fulfilling happiness in their and your lives. So if it is other beliefs that make sense to you and help you feel supported, then I support them! Different things work for different people.

Meditation has helped me and continues to help me in all aspects of my life.

I encourage you to find a style of meditation that works for you.

For example, there are many styles of meditation. The type of meditation that I was blessed enough to learn when I was 18 years old worked for me. It helped me to see that there was another way to live. I didn’t have to live in darkness. I didn’t have to be depressed or drink to feel better. These same techniques continue to work for me and are tools to help me in all aspects of my life.

Everything is energy. Physicists have proven this fact and I believe it too! The type of meditation that I practice and teach provides tools to consciously release unwanted energies. This includes pain, grief, guilt, fear, doubt and any other energy that may effect us in adverse ways.

While it has been in hiatus for a few months, I plan on reintroducing my Meditation Club down the road. If you are interested in being notified when that happens, let me know. As a member of my Meditation Club, you receive a recorded, guided meditation emailed to you. This allows you to listen and learn at the convenience of your schedule and in the comfort of your own home.

In addition to meditating and performing marriages, I provide premarital counseling. This includes sharing relaxing, meditation techniques so that the wedding day and planning processis less stressful and more enjoyable.

If you know someone in Oregon, Washington State or California wanting to get married, feel free to pass my name along. Below is what I have to say to engaged couples.

Create your day the way you want it!

I’ll make it legal.

My Favorite Meals

file000516303753

Avocados are one of my favorite foods on the planet. Delicious with beneficial nutrients.

If you don’t like fruit and vegetables it would be difficult to be vegan. Not impossible. Nothing is impossible. There would just be additional obstacles to overcome. I enjoy eating fruits and vegetables. Some I like the taste and texture, others I eat because I know they are good for me. None that I eat are completely unappealing however.

Whether I was making the decision to become fully vegan or not, some of my favorite meals would just happen to be vegan. I’ve always been naturally vegan and vegetarian. So making the full leap is probably easier for me than some people.

Below is a list of some of my favorite foods and meals. These foods and meals are also vegan.. With that said, in the case of bread or other processed ingredients, care must be taken to ensure that it is vegan without animal product derivatives including whey, casein and honey. These are just three of the ingredients that can be found in some otherwise vegan foods.

  • Avocados! I love them by themselves and often eat them with a spoon, right out of the peel! I also like it on bread with or without mayonnaise. One of my favorites is Hampton Creek’s “Just Mayo.” It is vegan, but does have sugar in it if you are trying to avoid that awful and addicting substance. It is a very small amount and the sugar is organic though if that helps to give yourself permission to eat it.

Hampton Creek's "Just Mayo" is just delicious!

Hampton Creek’s “Just Mayo” is just delicious!

  • Bananas – What I like about both bananas and avocados as they are instantly satisfying and filling. Seemingly moreso than some vegetables or fruit. Our bodies digest fruit very quickly. Bananas is perhaps the slowest digested fruit, which is probably why it seems more filling. It satiates us for a longer period of time. While I often eat bananas plain, I sometimes will put peanut butter on the banana as I am eating it. Peanut butter and sliced bananas on bread is a delicious sandwich too. Do you remember that from childhood? If you liked it then, don’t forget that you can still enjoy it at any age!
  • Peanut Butter – Speaking of peanut butter that I mentioned along with bananas above, a friend of mine educated me on the dos and don’ts of this ground nut spread. He strongly suggests staying away from any processed peanut butter, as he has seen so much of it rancid. He is in the restaurant industry and advises to, whenever possible to only use peanut butter that you grind yourself. You can often do so in the bulk section of health focused and not so health focused grocery stores. Not only will it be fresh, but unless the peanuts are pre-salted or coated with anything else, it will be without salt, sugar or other less healthy additives.

My favorite alternative to cow's milk in cereal is rice milk. I also like hemp milk and coconut milk. What's your favorite?

My favorite alternative to cow’s milk in cereal is rice milk. I also like hemp milk and coconut milk. What’s your favorite?

  • Raisins – I enjoy raisins by themselves and in cereal, especially granola and oatmeal. I used to never like anything sweet in my tossed, green salads. However, my previous roommate put raisins in my salad one night and I was hooked! I loved the added texture most of all! Now it’s less enjoyable for me to eat a salad, which is one of my all time favorite foods, without some sweet, chewy raisins mixed in!
cow in fence

This is one of the cutest beings I’ve ever seen. I can’t imagine supporting killing it for food or making it suffer so I can have cheese or ice cream.

One of my other favorite tasting foods is fish. Especially salmon. I love the taste of clams too. They are two of the hardest things for me to not eat, as a vegan or vegetarian. However, if I think about a fish or clam suffering the thought of these menu items become completely unappetizing and I no longer have a desire to eat them. Just thinking about eating these bodies of flesh and the suffering that these lovely creatures endured makes me literally sick to my stomach and I no longer consider eating them in any capacity.

Other things I have enjoyed eating in my lifetime include cheese and ice cream. Cheese quesadillas are so simple, yet so delicious. And ice cream! Well, one of the joys of being an adult is getting to eat it right out of the container and as much of it as I want. Again, however, if I think of the non-compassionate dairy industry and the emotional, psychological and physical harm brought to the animals in their care, I don’t want to eat it. Not only do I not have an appetite for it after those thoughts, but I also do not in any way want to support people and an industry with my time, energy and money that could without thinking cause such distress to animals.

I have found milk substitutes that taste good to me and work in cereal or recipes. My favorite is probably rice milk, but I also like coconut milk and hemp milk. As for non-dairy ice cream there are many that I love! They still aren’t great for us, as they are loaded with sugar and are fully processed, but if you are having a craving, they definitely satisfy! Cocobliss and Rice Dream are my favorites here. If you are an ice cream sandwich lover, you can’t go wrong with Tofutti Cuties!

I am not yet 100% vegan, but the majority of my meals are vegan. I’d love to hear from you! Are you vegan or considering transitioning over to this plant based way of eating? Are you like me and concerned about getting all of the nutrients needed for my body’s optimal health? Maybe you have suggestions to help me on my journey.

Take care,

Living Your Life

Earth.

Life on Earth can be many things. Joyous is one of the options.

There are so many things to do in this world. Everyday, in so many different areas of our lives, we put pressure on ourselves and allow others to apply pressure also. Expectations can cause stress, anxiety and fear. They can freeze us and keep us from living joyfully and truly living our lives. Other people’s expectations add to our own. While they may motivate us, they also invalidate us.

Whether verbally spoken or silently and perhaps passive aggressively given to us, expectations are seldom met. They are sometimes seemingly met and sometimes even exceeded. One thing that can lead to unmet expectations is unclear communication and the fact that we are each individuals.

We can use examples as simple as how to place the toilet paper on the roll. Do you like the paper over or under the roll? How about the infamous toothpaste question. Do you squeeze the tube from the bottom, the middle, the top? These are things that can lead to arguments, as opinions differ. In reality, who is to say what the “right” way is. I’m here to say… who cares!

toilet paper on rollThere are much more important things in this world than the flow of toilet paper and toothpaste! I would rather be happy and spread happiness than be anxiety ridden and share that anxiety. I feel that often in this physical human world, we are taught to blame others. We are taught to judge and with judgment often comes meanness. With meanness there is seldom joy and happiness. Even if being mean gives someone satisfaction and a feeling of power, those aren’t signs of being happy. A “feeling” of power is not actually power. It is the stroking of an ego.

My perception of ego may be different than some people’s. We all have an ego. We can grow it or diminish it. Ego isn’t a “bad” thing, it is simply ” a thing.” Something that we all have. Our ego is a collection of our stored pain. Invalidation, criticism, loneliness, heartache and physical, sexual, emotional and other types of abuse are all forms of pain. There are many ways to deal with our pain. One way is to simply to not deal with. To forget it’s there, ignore it, bury it deep underneath a smile or a frown and live our lives not acknowledging the hurts inside. Some people lash out at others instead of dealing with their pain. Others turn it on themselves, beating themselves up with little room for self-forgiveness. Do any of these behaviors sound familiar? Maybe you have some other ways of moving forward with the existence of pain. Keeping busy is a favorite way to avoid our pain in our fast moving, multi-tasking, accomplishment oriented human society.

girl relaxing on tree trunk contentI am here to tell you that there is another way to live. While we may all be able to find times when we have experienced all of these modes of dealing or not dealing with our pain, what would you say if I told you you can actually let it go? We can not change what has happened, but we can change our relation to past experiences and how they effect us. We can also release stored emotions and pain energy allowing us to be more neutral and less judgmental of ourselves and those around us. Instead of punishing ourselves and others for not being perfect or living up to those pesky, rigid expectations, we can learn. Every situation is an opportunity for learning. Giving ourselves and others room to learn allows for movement instead of stagnation. It creates space for love instead of instilling fear.

I know people and you probably do to, that use invalidation to control others. It is a way these individuals have learned to get others to do what they want. It is also a way to punish, intimidate and exert power over another. They may use a condescending tone or not verbally say anything at all. Instead they may communicate their judgement by sharing their opinion through telepathic thoughts, invading others with their energy, give a disapproving look or avoid interactions all together. Living in a highly judgmental society, we have all learned to judge. Because of this, it is safe to say, we have all done our share of judging at one time or another. Or many times and many others. 🙂

just do it nikeThe style of meditation that I practice and teach provides meditation techniques to help us to be more neutral and less judgmental of ourselves and others. Thank goodness!! These meditation techniques also help us to let go of energy we no longer want. Physicists agree that everything is energy. Absolutely everything! Our thoughts, emotions, expectations and judgments are all energy! Other people’s thoughts, opinions and expectations are also energy. Anyone’s energy, ours’ or others’, can effect us. But we can decide what energy we want to keep and what we want to let go of. There is freewill for each of us. Let others live their lives how they want to. You get to choose how YOU want to live yours. You do not need permission from anyone to be happy. As Beaverton, Oregon’s own Nike encourages us, “Just Do It!”

Pet Loss Support in Beaverton, Oregon

dog with chin on stuffed animalLoss, including in the form of death is, a part of life. It’s not a fun part of life. It is however, an opportunity for healing. The heavy emotions that accompany such loss can be overwhelming. Loss can be a painful experience. It can be shocking and difficult to move forward after experiencing loss.

The pet loss support groups I facilitate are a safe, supportive environment where participants can share as much or as little as they would like. It can be helpful and cathartic to talk about the feelings that coincide with loss. However, I understand that not everyone is comfortable verbalizing their feelings. While sharing is a part of our group, it is not mandatory to utter a single word. Participation is intended to be supportive and non-invasive to honor whatever people are going through at varying stages of their grieving processes. Some will want to talk and others will want to listen and quietly reflect.

Following the verbal sharing, I will lead a guided meditation to help release some of the pain energy and uncomfortable emotions. I will also share techniques to validate your ability to communicate with your animal friend that has passed on.

You are spirit. You have a body. Animals and humans are spirit in bodies. Different kinds of bodies, housing unique souls. Physical bodies are mortal. Spiritual beings are eternal. We can communicate with and otherwise sense the existence of souls after they have passed. My pet loss support groups with guided meditation and animal communication are opportunities to reflect and honor loved ones, while facilitating self-healing to assist in moving forward in the grieving and letting go process.

the filling station logo etcWow! My last blog post was in June! I can’t believe that it has been over three and a half months since I last shared with you. With my new life choice of working full time as a pet supply store manager in Tigard, Oregon, I have not had the same amount of time to write or offer my spiritual services.

I love helping people and their animal friends with nutrition, natural health remedies and positive reinforcement training at The Filling Station Pet Supplies store. I am grateful to have this opportunity in a public, retail setting. However, it is not what I see as the foundation of what I do.

We, animals and humans are spirit. We are souls; spiritual beings. We have bodies, which are our homes on earth. Our bodies are our vessels. Our temples in which to manifest through as spirit. During a session, my first step is seeing the truth. Looking at the energy of relationships and situations. The energy is the truth underneath the words, emotions, egos, facades and behavior. Following a session, I go in whatever direction is needed. Often a psychic reading and energy healing provide enough insight and information for clients to move forward. If additional support is needed, we may look more closely at diet, ways to reduce stress or give positive reinforcement training tips. I also offer meditation instruction, counseling and pet loss support with guided meditation and animal communication. Yes! You can more consciously communicate with your companion animals too!

SageCenterLogo1-e1432847940520Now that I have relocated to Oregon, I felt it was time to find a place to offer meditation classes, group guided meditations, animal communication presentations, pet loss support groups and one-on-one sessions. The place I found is the Sage Center for Wholeness and Health in lovely downtown, Beaverton, Oregon. There I will be able to offer readings, classes, presentations and support groups. I am going to plan an open house before the end of the year for people to visit and meet me. I will post specifics, including the date once it is chosen and secured.

Animal communication sessions, energy healings, readings, nutrition consultations, positive reinforcement training, pet loss support and recorded, guided meditations through my Wild and Tame Meditation Club are all available for anyone and everyone anywhere throughout the year. While I am planning on eventually getting a 503 area code, Portland, Oregon phone number, I am going to still keep my San Diego, California number of 619-797-0705. Basics of Animal Communication

Animal communication can be defined as animals communicating with animals and people communicating with animals.

Animal communication can be defined as animals communicating with animals and people communicating with animals.

Whether you are consciously aware of it or not, you are already communicating with the animals in your life. Communication is happening on many levels with all other beings, all the time. The important skill to increase is conscious awareness of our communication.

Like most of us humans, you are probably most consciously aware of audible, verbal communication. We learn from a young age that sounds, especially words have meaning and great power. Over time we learn what sounds, words and vocal inflections will get us what we want. We learn to believe words, even when they are lies.

Sindi doing a psychic reading and animal communication session at a public event at the Friends of Cats sanctuary and rescue.

Sindi doing a psychic reading and animal communication session at a public event at the Friends of Cats sanctuary and rescue in El Cajon, CA.

Learning to believe lies teaches us to not trust ourselves, our intuition, our information and our ability to read, and otherwise sense energy. Even physicists, scientists agree that everything is energy, including words. Words that mask the truth are a different energy than the actual truth. Have you ever experienced an interaction with someone and you just knew they weren’t telling you the truth and it turned out that you were right?! In that instance, you were reading energy. You were seeing the truth underneath the untrue words.

Animals are reading our energy all the time. It is confusing to them when we verbalize one thing and non-verbally communicate another. If we let them, animals can help keep us honest!

My Wild and Tame Meditation Club teaches techniques to help you to be more aware of energy. These tools will help you to change your energy, if needed to keep your words honest! The meditative, visualization techniques that I practice and teach can help you to have clearer communication with yourself and your companion animals. They will actually help you to have clearer communication with any animal or person.

I look forward to continuing my work with animals and their people in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Long story short… I got the job! Okay. So you may not have known that I was up for a specific job, but I was and I am over the top excited that I got it!

Now for the long story, for those that enjoy details and especially those that believe, like me that everything happens for a reason and other woo-woo perspectives. 😉 It also is a great example of being in the present moment and going with the flow. What helped me to do both of those things was using the simple, powerful meditative, visualization technique of grounding!

I visited the most beautiful rest area I have ever seen just north of Grants Pass, Oregon.

I visited the most beautiful rest area I have ever seen just north of Grants Pass, Oregon.

Monday, May 25 – I crossed the border from California into Oregon. As I enjoyed the lush green trees, I kept saying to myself, “I could live here!” My actual destination was Washington State, which I loved and still love. Washington is where I lived the majority of my life. However, when I arrived at my friend’s house in Beaverton, Oregon, where I was planning to stay for just a couple of days, I decided that I should look into the possibility of living in the area, instead of continuing on to Washington. That night I looked on craigslist for job possibilities. I saw a number of jobs that I felt I might be qualified for. However, it was one job in particular that got my attention! I was very excited and felt motivated to move forward with applying.

Tuesday, May 26 – I wrote a personalized cover letter, specifically for that one position. I attached my resume and applied for that one job and only that one job. The job that I felt was made for me and perhaps was the reason I had ended up in Beaverton, Oregon.

Wednesday, May 27 – I received a phone call from the owner of the store, wanting to schedule an interview with me. Of course I said yes! It was scheduled for the following Monday.

Monday, June 1 – What a great way to start a new month, with an interview for a job I could not believe was available in the area where I was staying and the week that I had arrived! I interviewed with three animal loving people and felt that all went well, though it can be hard to tell with interviews. I decided to remain optimistic.

Tuesday, June 2 – I was called for a second interview, which was scheduled for Thursday.

Thursday, June 4 – I felt that the second interview went great. The four of us seemed like a great match! But you never know for sure and interviews can always bring up insecurities and doubt. I did my best to stay in the present moment, have faith and allow whatever was meant to be and was most beneficial to just happen. I emailed my references, as requested and then sent a thank you card to the store owner.

So excited that we will be carrying Answers Raw Goat's Milk for cats and dogs!

We will be carrying Answers Raw Goat’s Milk for cats & dogs at our store in Tigard, OR! Yay!

Tuesday, June 9 – I received a call offering me the job! The owner went over the details and I again, of course, said YES!!! I am going to be the store manager for a brand new pet supply store opening in July. It is located in Tigard, Oregon, which is less than ten minutes from where I am currently staying in Beaverton!! Coincidence? No such thing!! Did I mention that I am over the top excited?!

Wednesday, June 10 – I started my role, by helping with the interviewing process to select our retail staff. We will be doing more of that next week. Woo hoo!

So in case you were wondering, I definitely will be staying in Oregon. I will still be teaching continuing education classes in Centralia, WA in July and August at Centralia College. The commute isn’t too far. I’m sure I’ll be making other visits to Washington too, so I hope to see some of you reading this later this year!! Yay! P.S. My classes are on page five of the course catalog that can be found on this link.

Please Note: I will still be offering private, long distance animal communication sessions and readings and nutrition consultations and holistic pet care sessions. I will be doing in person appointments in Beaverton, Tigard, Gresham, Aloha, Lake Oswego, Newberg, Hillsboro, Salem and Portland, Oregon and surrounding areas, including Camas, Salmon Creek, Minnehaha and Vancouver, Washington. Remember I’ll be traveling to Centralia, WA once a week starting on July 25th too! I will also be visiting Chehalis, Olympia, Federal Way, Tacoma, Everett and Seattle, Washington and adjacent cities soon.

P.S. If you or someone you know happens to be in the Tigard/Beaverton/Portland area, I hope to see you/them at the store in July or after! I’ll keep you posted, as things unfold. Thank you for reading the long version of my story!

On the Road Again!

Rock's first golf cart ride!

Rock’s first golf cart ride! Neither one of us actually drove. Just posing! We were grateful passengers.

The first weekend of May, I was invited to stay at the Barbara Worth Resort and Country Club to participate in an event with the Humane Society of Imperial County. The resort is in Holtville, CA, near El Centro. I offered one on one animal communication readings to guests.

Since it was a pet-friendly venue, I was able to take Rock with me. It was a pre-trip trip! I say that because last Thursday, May 21st, we left on another leg of our journey. We traveled up through California and then into Oregon.
My intention was to continue on to Washington State because I loved it so much when I lived there previously. However, the theme of 2015 for me has been to be in the present moment and go with the flow. This approach has served me well, so I am planning on continuing to do this. Forever! In keeping with that, just like the abundant trees, I have decided to plant my roots in Oregon!
Trees, trees, glorious trees! Just one of the many reasons I love the Pacific Northwest. Love the green of Oregon and Washington!

Trees, trees, glorious trees! Just one of the many reasons I love the Pacific Northwest. Love the green of Oregon and Washington!

It is not only beautiful here, but the people are friendly and it just feels right! With the exception of wanting to move to the beautiful Oregon Coast, I have never seriously considered moving to Oregon because I loved Washington state and its beauty when I lived there. The memory of my love of Washington has stayed with me for years!

So here I sit in beautiful, green and very different from what I have become used to, Oregon. I’m in the lovely Beaverton area, near Portland and Tigard. I love the name Tigard. It reminds me of my tigers, which I love! I am looking for a job here. I will continue to offer my services on the side. As always, I provide long distance services for anyone anywhere. Including my brand new change your life and feel better service… my Wild and Tame Meditation Club!!
To help our busy world to relax and take time for themselves, I have found a way to teach meditation without requiring a certain time commitment. In fact, you don’t even have to leave your own home! It’s like having a teacher at your beckon call without giving up an ounce of privacy!
Beginning on June 2nd, I will be sending out weekly recordings. One emailed, audio will be instructional, focusing on one specific meditation technique. The second will be a guided meditation incorporating that week’s technique, as well as many others. Take the stress out of meditating! Do it on your time schedule, at your place and pace. I hope you decide to Join The Club!
